Review summary

A wonderful cruise , with great friendly fellow cruisers , I have taken a star off as it was not as good as the very best cruises I have been on with Holland America , but that is nit picking . Lovely feeling of space , a great ship !

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Fast , efficient !

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Nothing to moan about , food was very good , no real "wow" meals , but solid good food . Had a very poor piece of steak , but put that down to bad luck , waiter offered to replace. A positive was the very limited kids menu, that encouraged my kids to order off the main menu and try new things .

The Golden Lion

5 out of 5

According to my wife , the most perfect fish n chips in the world !

Commodore Club

5 out of 5

Went to a fab martini session with Amor , a great fun time

Britannia Restaurant

Gede the waiter was a star .

Onboard Activities

Great library, plentiful space per guest.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The singer's and dancers tried and got better as the cruise progressed

Children's Programs

They signed , up but never went !

Service and Staff

Waiter Gede was amazing , seemed genuinely happy to serve , cabin steward was fine but compared to others we have had was not exceptional .

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin 1036 , good size , excellent location , would book again . Kids were in cabin 1049 , they seemed to like it despite the tiny tv !

Ports of call

NEWHAVEN HARBOUR (EDINBURGH), SCOTLAND

4 out of 5
A tender port , but an easy run into Edinburg via the train .

Invergordon (Inverness & Loch Ness), Scotland

4 out of 5
Went to Inverness , but heard that people who hang around Invergordan had a good time .

Greenock (Glasgow), Scotland

5 out of 5
Amazing , so much to see and do , would really recommend the hop on hop off bus tour . Again , heard people who stayed in Greenock had a great time as locals were providing free tours , tea and shortbread .

Belfast, Northern Ireland

Went to the Giants causeway tour with Allen tours with the fantastic Ben . Cannot praise him or the tour enough .
