Definitely an older crowd, but I appreciated the calm atmosphere and lack of drunk 20-somethings.
Take comfortable shoes for excursions.
Make full use of all of the facilities on board, watch out for upswell of wine and drinks
the ship is purpesed for adults. this is an advantage and disadvantage of the ship
There is lots to do so choose carefully and save some rest time.
if you are old you are in the right place. and if you like plain food and stewed things.
Take easily rinsed clothes. Launderette inaccessible and very small!
Travel using the Queens grill if you can - worth it
Make sure to have the fish-and-chips in the Golden Lion Pub. This is an "included" venue and is like a London Pub.
If you don't like at least moderate formality (I do), you should look elsewhere. Also, Cunard is not overly kid-friendly (again, a plus for me), not because they are hostile to kids, but because the vibe is very adult.
Bring a good appetite and some lovely clothes to wear while dining.
Plan and pay for all you can before the cruise
Only need to improve disembarkation procedures. Entertainment was almost 100%. The group of "soul or rock" music was not a good match for the audience. We left early.
Beautiful ship. Just think that it needs to change their entertainment to include guests from other nationality/age.
In selecting a cabin, I suggest requesting one in the mid-section of the ship, near the "135's". If your room is in the low digits ("002-040's"), you will have a long walk each day from your cabin to the restaurants. So, 7135 would be preferable to 7004.
Several intermediate and outside areas to enjoy the open air and avoid the air-conditioning.
Late seating was very late and felt like we did not have time to enjoy the entertainment after dinner.
Late (8:30) seating allows time to dress for dinner without rushing after port, but pushes you to late show. Tea 3:30- 4:30 ends at 4:30 sharp with staff pulling off table linens from around you. Bring printed proof of any promotions to avoid the run around onboard.
Penthouse suite balconys on deck 4 are horizontally larger than those on deck 5.
2 formal evenings, one black and white ball and the second on New Year's Eve, everyone made an effort and the ship looked fab on New Year's Eve
