An elegant cruise to a stunning destination that is a must see. The ship provides top service, catering and shows for a more discerning crowd. The ship itself was not crowded even though full, and is furnished with elegant high quality finishes. Strongly recommend Cunard.

We arrived early and were taken straight on the ship. No waiting. Just pleasant people to welcome you.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We dined in the Britiania restaurant. Food was outstanding. Well presented. Tasty. Compared to other cruise ships we went on a major step up. The buffet area had a large high quality selection of food. I have been on a number of MSc cruises. In the main restaurant of the MSc ships there are 7 courses offered for dinner - but best described as good quality canteen food. Cunard only offers 3 courses - but of a far higher quality and quantity. Examples included lovely fillet steak, Lamb shanks, Lobster tail and beautifully presented deserts.
Onboard Activities

There were pools, hot tubs with lovely big loungers which weren’t crowded and pleasant. Experts gave talks during the day. Dance classes and elegant ball room dancing to high quality bands and orchestras were offered nightly. Optional extras included whisky and wine tasting.
Entertainment

Stage shows were top drawer. They had musicians, dancers etc which were high quality and most enjoyable. Actors from London's Westend were used in the shows.
Children's Programs
No children
Service and Staff

Very friendly and helpful. Always available. High ratio of staff to passengers - almost 1000 staff to 2000 passengers on board. This is higher than ships like MSc.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship had top quality furnishings that made the cruise feel special. It was a medium sized ship with almost everything needed. The ship (even though fully booked) is designed to only allow 2000 passengers on board which is less than comparable cruise liners of this size such as MSc. As such there was never any crowding and the ship felt spacious.
Cabin / Stateroom

Size and layout and furnishings were good for the price. Shower door instead of curtain was only thing we would have changed. Fluffy towels and gown and slippers provided every day. Turndown service with Godiva chocolates provided for bed time.
Ship tip
The ship is not at aimed families with teenagers.. It’s aimed at adults who want a formal elegant cruise with smart evenings. And at that it excels. Dress code is important. Most men for eg in formal evenings wore Tuxedos. And even in the informal evenings, a smart jacket is required for dinner. The dress code is enforced. Despite this, the cruise is relaxing and the staff very friendly and polite. The passengers were not stuck up, and we made friends easily.
Large town. Nice to arrive at Constitution day. It was amazing to see all the children out in parades in their national costumes and seeing the pride the Norwegians take in their country,. A brass band met us at the ship and led the passengers into the centre of the town - a very welcoming special experience
