Although the weather was forecasted to be wet...we had excellent weather!  Staff was great, food and beverages were really good!  Those who complain that the wait for alcoholic beverages was too long...don't know where you were trying to get a drink!  Never waited more then a minute or two unless you were waiting to be waited on by the pool....only then did I see any issues, mostly because every single chair was taken on deck.  If you don't want to wait...go for a walk and hit up a bar....they are everywhere!

If you want some quiet time...go to the "Waterfront" bars...no one ever there...spent hours looking at the water and drinking our hearts out...no one was around!

Only negative - in teen club - the teen club staff members did not do much except keep adults out.  Unlike Disney - where they make sure that everyone is getting to know each other - they did not take the time to help the "single" kids get to know new groups of kids.  Although it was Easter break and about a third of the cruisers were kids with "built in friends" meaning lots of big families traveling together.

Over all a great cruise.

We had a wonderful experience. over 11 complimentary restaurants. Lots of games, fun, 5 water slides. lots of food. Friendly staff. Lots of excursions. 

I don't like the layout of that ship, the pool area is claustrophobic for so many people in there at the same time Is not nice to be in that areas.  We have weather problems and we cant do the first stop and we have 3 day at the sea.  Crazy!!!!! and boring...

From start to finish I was robbed. Paying for two balcony rooms side by side and getting  two inside rooms three decks apart and on different ends of the ship with no way or anyone to take care of the problem. I was told that I could change excursion credits to on board credits, but that didn't  happen. Very dissatisfied with Norwegian am the way things were handled. 

The ship had nice amenities and the thermalsuite in the spa was very nice. However the food on the ship was subpar, including the specialty dining. This was quite disappointing. 

Loved the food, entertainment, loved the ship.  Expecially enjoyed the breakfast buffet entertainment,

the group singing by the elevator,  You are my Sunshine, Washie, Washie, Washie, and just loved

the man who sounded like a rooster.  What a way to begin the day!!!!

I have cruised on other, less expensive lines, and wanted a new experience.  Upon arriving my balcony cabin was tiny, as was the balcony which was not waterfront, but above the shuffleboard court.  There was no privacy to just sit quietly on the balcony.  The food was poor to mediocre.  They have many premium dining venues where you pay extra to eat, but being on a fixed cruise spending allowance, I didn't want to pay extra so I availed myself to the free food.  The variety was poor and most of the free dining had limited hours.  The service was poor as well.  I'd estimate that 4 out of the 25 or so waiters/waitresses were friendly and made me feel welcomed.

The entertainment was actually top notch, however only 2 of the 4 productions were free.  They had a dance company do a show called "Burn the floor" and the production was high quality and entertaining.  They also had "Legally Blonde" the musical, which was very good.  I can't comment on the other shows as I did not have the money to pay for the other shows.  They also had a dueling piano show 4 nights which was great!  However, they mostly played the requesrs that had a 5, 10 or 20 dollar bill attached.

I feel like when you pay $1000 per person you should have access to everything on the ship.  Noweigan makes nickle and diming its customers a business practice that didn't sit well with me, and I'm not cheap.  So, aside from the entertainment I find Norwegian to be lacking in quality and service.

We had a great time on this cruise. We did not go to their private island due to rough seas , but that is to be expected  when you are tendered in, had a great day on board though ! Food was good , many options to choose from . The only thing I feel could have even  improved on is the bar wait staff out on the pool decks. Other cruises I have been on the wait staff knows your name and what you are drinking by the second day ! I feel we spent a lot of time leaving our lounge chairs to go and order our own drinks, not a deal breaker but an inconvenience. NCL has also started charging for room service, our last NCL cruise it was free. Not a huge deal but I feel 7.95 is a bit to high . All in all we had a great time, balcony cabins are definitely worth the money !

Great ship, best food out of all my 8 previous cruises, great service, clean ship, perfect ports. Second time on NCL and already planning a 2 week back-to-back cruise on the Getaway next year!!!

The cruise was great!  We highly recommend the upgrade food package, it was first class dining and not so crowded!  We also recommend the beverage package which made us feel very pampered.  It was so nice to have a drink around the pool, at dinner, and during the evening activities without worrying about the cost.  This is our third cruise on Norwegian and we love the newer boats and the entertainment. Our only disappointments were that the entertainment was the same as our cruise last year, so we saw the same shows again.  Also, the cost of the cruise and extra beverage gratuity increased.  Loved the private island on the Bahamas.   

my 11th cruise, just may have been my best yet.  I've done 4 Carnival( so far the bottom of the barrel by the others I've cruises with), 3 cruises with Royal Carribean(substantially better,), Disney was supreme and I've had 3, so I should know, but the Norwegian Getaway was fantastic and right up there with Disney!

the freestyle leaves it up to the personal choice of how each passenger wants to enjoy there evening(I personally prefer to. Have dress up nights and everyone looks the part, but...other than that it was cool).  There are so many choices of fine dining, it's mind blowing.  

The tv in the cabin sucks.  It was a move channel, a sports channel, 4 news channels and the rest were all cruise pitches.

the ship was 4-5 star all the way.  The service was first rate.  The entertainment was good.  The internet is slow!

This cruise was so much fun! If you like to drink, I would definitely recommend buying the drink package. It includes basically everything under $15 except for the mini bar and soda and coffee...and water bottles I think. The entertainment is fun and some of the entertainment staff is hilarious! The food was ok...but I am comparing it to Disney who has fabulous food. The service staff can definitely improve. There are some people on the staff who are quite cranky. Embarkation and Disembarkation was super easy and getting on and off the boats from the islands is fast. I would not mind cruising Norwegian again.

Beautiful weather, beautiful ship loved the adults only 16th floor H2O lounge area. Staff were Friendly and accommodating. Good excursions. 

Would do it again!!

this was my fiancé and my first cruise.  We couldn't have been happier with our balcony room, unlimited drinks and assortments of food!  The islands we visited were beautiful and the whole staff on board was warming and helpful.  I was looking forward to so many good times and it definitely exceeded my expectations. We will be booking a future cruise soon!!!

I was excited about the unlimited beverage and special dining promotions as well as a balcony stateroom. While the stateroom was nice I couldn't help comparing this cruise and ship (one of NCL's newest and largest) to the carnival shop we went on a few years ago which happened to be aboard their oldest and smallest ship. We paid way less money and although we had a inside stateroom we never felt like we were missing out. We found ourselves bored more often then not and the pools were always overcrowded and were tiny and lacking for the size of the ship. We paid far more for this cruise than our last and felt like they were trying to nickel and dime us everytime we turned around. We had to miss a port due to windy weather and there was absolutely no back up plan which I find ridiculous because I know this kind of thing happens all the time. There were no additional activities to make up for it and they didn't go to another port which does happen when things like this are thought out better. We got a mere $18 refund and EXTREMELY dull day. The entertainment was just ok, we enjoyed the comedy and howl at the moon the most. Even though we had the promo packages there was still SO much that was extra. The food was just ok, a few dishes were great but our server mixed up something on our order almost every night and one even made us feel guilty for not finishing our meal. My husband is a vegetarian and the meal options were few and far between for him. There were so many restaurants to choose from but so few menu options per place but I remember on carnival there weren't many restaurants yet so many many more options on the menus. Really wishing I could go back and choose a different cruise line, for all that was promoted and expected I was severely disappointed. Also, our room was called numerous times VERY early in the morning, waking us up to ask if we were the medical dept. come to find out it was GUEST SERVICES calling the wrong number over and over again! I feel sick for wasting so much money and will NOT make this mistake again. We get so very few vacation opportunities and this one was such a let down.

This was my first Norwegian cruise because of the current promotions they are running. I wasn't sure about it after reading recent reviews regarding this ship but i was not disappointed at all.  The ship is beautiful with the only problem I saw was the pool deck being to small as well as the theater. Besides that the ship was great with amazing food and food options everywhere! I cant wait to go on the escape next!

The Bingo is a scam only 3 games and the cost is over the top.

This was our 2nd time on the Getaway and it is okay. We like Norwegian for the fact that you can go to Dinner at anytime; afterall you are on vacation. Staff is very nice. If you like the dining staff entertainment, do another cruise line. Freestyle Dining is more important to us.

The Norwegian Getaway was very similar in set-up to the Norwegian Breakaway, with many great shows and dining options.  Highlights of the Getaway include "Burn the Floor" and "Illusionarium".

We were on the Breakaway last year and, in comparison, could not rate the Getaway as high.  Honestly, the Breakaway had a much better cruise director that made you feel special as a guest on the ship.  The Getaway staff lacked in comparison.

Been on Norwegian before but first time on the Getaway. Stunning ship! You will get lost. Room was great! Food was outstanding! Entertainment was great. Staff on the ship were very friendly at all times. Very clean ship.
