My favorite part of this cruise was the relaxed atmosphere.  Meals were where and when you wanted them and the food was very good.  Very easy to get around this large ship.  Most areas on the ship were not overly crowded except for the main pool area.  Found the adult private area (Spice H2O) in the aft of the ship on the last day which had many open lounge chairs and two additional hot tubs.  Cabins were very small compared to other cruise lines and balconies were extremely small as well.  There were frequently photographers around however they were never pushy or in your face.  Bar staff was excellent.  Spa prices seemed high.  Overall, the Getaway was a fun, relaxing cruise and I would go back on this cruise line again.

The ship was beautiful. There was  a lot of fun activities on board and the burn the floor show was awesome ! The service was very poor while sitting out my the pool the servers would walk right by you without asking if you needed anything and wouldn't clean up around where we were sitting . Had to go to the bar to get drinks and it seemed like the bartenders were a lil bothered while ordering drinks . They would serve the person next to me then walk to the other side of the bar to seve someone else other than me . The food and service was great at  Teppan-Yaki ! Our chef was very good at what he does and also a great singer ! And all the food on board was great . The water slides is where the fun was at.I had a blast 

I think that the smoking allowed on this ship was fine but except for I smoke a Black and Mild I should not be subject to,  The Cigar Lounge with the big cigars. Enjoy the trip otherwise

we always have cruise with Carnival, Norwegian with very nice but Carnival is more of the party ship. Over all it was great. I love the cabin size on Norwegian and the food better then carnival.

After arriving at the port, the luggage/baggage collectors seem to "swarm" us. I had my luggage and that of a fellow traveler with me while the car was taken to be parked for the duration of the cruise.

I told the gentleman which bags were going, and which were to stay. He acknowledged and agreed he knew  which were to taken (I was keeping careful guard of lap top attache' cases and items of my companion as well as mine).

When I quickly turned around, I realized he had taken and loaded my luggage that was to stay with me, with my passport zippered in the front compartment! I could not see the cart it was on, notified the attendant,and when my fellow traveler returned, he went to look for it. Both our bags looked similar, and, even with information given, they (luggage porters) said "they found it". BUT, it was my fellow traveler's luggage and not mine! (evidently they just looked at the room # and not the name)!

We got to the port plenty early enough. It was immediately  reported and we went to security, and then were told it was found prior to the ship leaving port,  (but it wasn't, after waiting over two hours or so). They asked my fellow traveler whether he still wanted to go, as I could not board the ship.

We were stranded in Miami, had to get a cab, the parking garage was closed, and had to end up staying overnight in Ft Lauderdale before driving home the next day for 5 hours...

Very disappointed in Norwegian, as it was my first booking with them. Very unsystematic and seemed a bit chaotic...My name was not searched for, just the room number. The search was basically, in my opinion, somewhat dampened or called off after the mistake thinking it was found.

WHAT A NIGHTMARE!

First time on Norwegian.  So much fun.  Loved this beautiful ship and all of the space and activities.  Much, much livelier than the Holland ship on which we sailed last time.  A bit less elegant perhaps, but gorgeous atrium, more restaurants, excellent food/drink.  Service not as good at it should have been.  The only show we attended was awful - singers.  Left early.  

We paid for the Vibe area on top of the ship for the whole week and were so glad we did.  Excellent service up there.  Well worth the $$ for the privacy and peace.  Bar steps away from lovely padded lounge chairs.  Waiters who bring fruited water and drinks.  Great!

The whole ship was chock full of stuff to do and lively people to do it with.  Danced up on top of the ship at least 3 nights.  SO fun!  

Loved our room so much - a mini-suite.  Super super bathroom.  

Overall, we loved the Norwegian Getaway.

Ship too crowded, not enough outdoor areas, we are in our 50's and felt as if we were treated as children- don't eat there, don't smoke there- too many rules and not enough areas to just relax without huge crowds esp on sea days.  Some of the workers tended to be rude to an extent.  Norweigan does not apply the do it your way, do it when you like at all.  I have cruised twice before and never felt this way and the last cruise was on Norweigan and that is why I chose again, but it sure was a different scenario this time around, makes me never want to cruise again.

When staying in a Haven Suite, you are treated like a prince. The staff go above and beyond to make sure all of your needs, wants and desires are taken care of. 

You are immediately greeted by your personal butler, who takes care of all your requests from additional fruit in the morning to a healthy quantity of espresso capsules throughout the day.

Within an hour, you meet your steward who learns your daily routine. Mine was going to the gym and the thermal and observation spa. My room was always cleaned during the 2 hours I was away.

The Haven bartender only needed to learn my name and drink once and she greeted me with a brilliant smile and a double, even when I didn't ask.

My personal waiter immediately new my name and always told me which entree and dessert he thought I would like. I am a huge fan of sea bass and triple layer cake in the Haven restaurant.

The thermal spa and observation deck is the best place on any ship I have ever sailed, this includes the larger Allure.

The gym could be larger and gets crowded, I prefer the gym on the Allure.

The Haven Spa suite is exceptionally decorated and is a nice size room.

The balcony is a bit small and I prefer the balcony on the Allure.

The Haven sun deck is exceptional. On sea days, it always has a nice breeze in the forward area. Wait staff are always coming by with water, snacks and if you want to drink in the sun, that as well. 

I had 3 dine outs and used them on the brazillian steakhouse and Cagneys. The brazillian steakhouse is not angus beef, so it was not what I am used too. Cagney serves a Tomahawk 39oz angus beef prime that is outstanding. I had it on 2 of my dine outs. I went to the garden buffet once and never returned. I went for Sushi once and also never returned. If you want a great machiatto or espresso the coffee bar freshly grinds their beans per order.

I did stub my toe hard on the first night of the trip going into the suite bathroom. It is raised and there is adequate signage of "watch your step", but it happened anyway.

Since coming home, I have done research on the updated Allure as well as the Escape. The Allure has larger balconies and gym but the Escape has a better Haven area, better thermal observation suite and more inclusive feeling of being special. I do like Central Park on the Allure but the Tomahawk steak is that good. I guess I'll have to sail one of each. 

Somewhat disappointing. NCL was very aggressive about trying to charge for everything they could. Only a few meal venues were included in the price. Some entertainment was charged. Their shore excursions were very expensive. And, they had a mandatory service charge policy. Tips are for services rendered. NCL should pay their employees, not the customer. As a result, service for the most part was mediocre. My $1400 trip (for two) came out to be $3500. That's with no shore excursions and no extra dining charges. 

This is our first time on a mega ship and it was absolutely amazing. There was so much to do on the boat and so many activities that we couldn't get to it all. We got the unlimited drink and speciality dining package. Cannot wait to go back on the Getaway!

Attentive staff in all areas.  Even though we did not care for the size of the ship and the pool area being so small, it was enjoyable enough to be willing to sail on it again.

Norwegian Getaway was a great Ship, very clean, food was excellent.  The islands were great with a lot of different things to do and explore.  I would recommend this ship to everyone.

had a room over band load music till 2:00 am.Would never go to Belize

again if on my cruise will stay on ship.Also will never drive there again.

The Norwegian casual environment is an excellent approach to make the cruise experience cruise trip unforgettable.  The add-on beverage package and specialty restaurants are the perfect complements to create an exceptional cruise trip.  Although we had visited all the ports of call before the Norwegian experience made the trip hard to forget.  However NCL has to improve the check-in process that took more that 1.5 hours to board the ship.  Debarkation is very smooth and well organized.   

So much fun things going on, no time to do it all.

Slow start up on embarkation, disembarkation went very well.

Do not pay extra for a "Mini Suite" This is just a balcony cabin with a double sink, almost full size tub and a coffee pot. Not worth the extra $200. The balcony was the smallest I have ever stayed on in any cruise line.

This is the third cruise we've taken on the Norwegian Getaway and we've enjoyed each one. The Food is excellent, really everywhere on the ship, even the Buffet is Good.

The Ship is Clean, the room steward was Very Nice and Helpful, we met some great people on board and we just had a Great time.

Excellent staff service and excellent time in the cruise ship.  The entertainment was amazing...  the games and shows were very entertaining.  The options of restaurants is excellent...

Stateroom :16128(Accessible Room)the Haven suit

When we checked in on 04/28/2016 they gave us state room:15126 even though we reserved room 16128.

After complaining 5/1/2016 wait for 2-3 hours, they gave us the down-graded State room: 13106(Accessible Room) saying we canceled the reservation once even though that never happened.

they give onboard credit $25/state room by SKYMILES

The concierge never gave a valid reason on why our reservation was changed.

finally they give additional $342.82 onboard credit, but we are not satisfied with that arrangement.

I enjoyed my overall cruise experience but the workers should limit the amount of perfume the put on because I was not the only person sensitive to perfume.

The staff was just doing their job and was extremely tired, additionally we felt like they were there just to take as much money as possible…   The cruise ship was clean and free from rust and etc. that I can see.  We were so disappointed that will never use this cruise line again.
