The staff was so friendly and helpful.  The food was amazing!

We loved it...would go again, only for longer.  Our stateroom with the balcony was spotless and roomy.  I would recommend this to anyone who wants to getaway.

The cruise was amazing. The staff are friendly and the ship is tidy and well kept. Overall great experience. There wasn't much of a "night-life" for those in their mid-twenties.

This by far was the absolute BEST experience in my entire life. I have never been on a cruise I was always scared to go on a cruise because of all of the horror stories about motion sickness, being left at ports, and the choppy water. Guess what we never experienced any of this. The staff was very good and caring. All weekend the staff catered to US. The only down side was the over priced acholic drinks. But, they made up for it with the discounted liquor store "Tradewinds" that had some really great deals. However, only downside you can not pick up liquor until 2nd night after 7pm. On the two day cruise. But, the food was great, the movies, attractions, sailing, shows,games, music, ect. Was great I can't wait to go again.

We were with a group of 9 family members ranging in age from 1 years old to 58 years old and we all had such a marvelous time on the Norwegian Getaway! The rooms, restaurants, activity areas, pools, etc were all immaculate and new! The staff was quick to respond to our every need and they made sailing with little ones very easy! Thanks for having accommodating pools and splash pads for little kids. That was a great time for all!

I LOVE THIS CRUISE IT GAVE ME EVERYTHING I WAS LOOKING FOR AND MORE!!! I ENJOYED EVERY TRIBUTE THAT WAS DONE AND AMAZED AT HOW I DIDN'T EVEN FEEL LIKE I WAS MOVING!

My favorite part is that there is something for everyone and that one can do as much or as little as they would like to do. There is no pressure or schedules other than the ones that you make for yourself.  

We were celebrating my wife's birthday and her friend's birthday.  We all had a wonderful time with dinner at Cagney's Steakhouse followed by the Tribute to Steve Wonder (the young lady was fantastic), followed by jewelry shopping for the birthday ladies and closed out the night with Groove International doing Motown & others.  I will recommend the "Getaway" cruise to all.

I loved Norwegian Getaway, everything, except they charged me the drinks I used in the room even though i had 25 dollars unused on board credit that more than enough to cover my drinks.

The ship was beautiful and nice. There were more people on the ship than expected. I knew that I would have to pay for specialty coffee and alcohol. I ate in  the complimentary restaurants. I was shocked to realize that even at those restaurants I was charged for sparkiling water and even at one, I was charged just to sit down. I was also shocked to realize that even when I used my ship card, I was charged. Very very disappointed customer!!!!

This was my very first time being on a cruise and I must say that everything was wonderful besides the unlimited wi-fi that I paid for.  Customer service was excellent down to the amazing cuisine. I would truly recommend this voyage to everyone that I know but will give everyone a heads up about ignoring the purchase of internet service.  That was the only thing that I was disappointed in! 

So, we figured we would try a cruise.  A long holiday weekend seemed like a good time to do that.  It was a short cruise because if I didn't like it I didn't want to be stuck for a whole week.

The good side (and why it got 3 stars)

food was good

room was clean

the bad side

getting onto the boat ruined the vacation.  It took hours.  Why tell me to show up at 930 am when there was no way I was getting on that thing until after 2?  Torture?  Maybe they just wanted to set the mood the rest of the vacation?  Well, it did.  

I flew in on the red eye and would have gotten a room or even took a later flight if I knew I had all that time.  When I actually got on the thing there was no direction where to go.  I just walked down the deck until I found an elevator.  I had a bunch of people following me because they assumed I knew where I was going.  Eventually I found my bed.  But "gopher" or whatever the first mate guy's name was kept talking over the loud speaker and kept me awake another few hours.

When I finally got to sleep most of the day was over.  So what a waste!

The port town was ok.  We had fun but it was way too short.  Then we were back on ship fighting with the crowds to get food.  It was like people were starving.  There was pushing and shoving and no way to enjoy your food with the loud noises.  We did a specialty venue one night, much better.

overall, learn from my experience.

Get there as late as possible

eat at the specialty restaurants and skip the crowds

do go to the spa

skip the god awful pool unless you really like manic children and drunk people

or have a real vacation, book a hotel room and get a car and come and go as you please.  I will garrentee you'll sleep better.

I have been on so many cruises including the Noweigen.   However, traveling with 7 other family members made the trip so much fun.  I dare to say I had the time of my life!!   The crew members were outstanding!!!! The food... Fantabulous!!!! I'm such a critic... This time all positive!!

Until the last cruise, NCL was always the top 1 cruise for us. We even convinced my brother's family who were cruising the first time to come with us in NCL. We must say it was a very disappointing. Apart from the food and courtesy of the restaurant staff and buffet staff, everything else was much below average. Now we regret for convincing my brother's family to join us on the trip. Right from the time when the fire drill started till the departure day, there was nothing exciting happening in the cruise. There were nobody to welcome the guest when they stepped into the ship and people seemed lost especially the ones cruising for the first time. After cruising 2 times, it is indeed a disappointment experience. We had several issues once boarded which even the customer service were not able to help us. It took NCL 3 days once we were on the ship to credit us the onboard credit that we were offered by at the time of booking. Fortunately I had the print outs and so it served as a proof. The NCL customer service kept mentioning that they dont see any onboard credit. Once I showed them the print pout which I had taken from the NCL website prior to boarding the ship, they were convinced but it took them 4 days to show it on our account. They werent very helpful with the entire issue and it was very frustrating to deal with this on a vacation. Overall not a great cruise experience on this cruise line. We had better experience on the ones from NY

Beautiful ship, friendly crew, great food, fun excursions. NCL Getaway activities designed for the younger family ... so lots of children and very loud public areas. Passengers looking for a more quiet, relaxed atmosphere have to seek it out on the ship. The booking experience through was terrible ... Important information needed to make a good cruising decision was either missing or inaccurate. For example, reservation was supposedly upgradable to a better cabin if needed, knowing it might cost more. Not true. In fact, friends who booked through NCL directly could upgrade approximately 3 weeks prior to sail. I, on the other hand, was told by that the initial reservation had to be canceled (full 100% penalty) to re-book a better cabin. Sorry ... never again.

The best I liked was the music. The food buffet area is a disaster, no variety and nit enough space for the amount of people. The menu in the main dining rooms was ok.  The beach tours we took we're very nice. Our stateroom attendant was excellent. But I didn't like the mega size ship. I prefer personalized treatment in a smaller environment. The guest services desk is under staff. The lines were long and the waiting Unbelievable just to ask to punch a hole in a card or get an account printout. Embarkation was a nightmare. Disembarking the ship was better. The AC in our room was constantly turning off at times during the night.  I had to get up every night 2 or 3 times to turn switch on again (not good).

Took the family (kids are in their teens and early twenties) on a western Caribbean cruise about the Getaway. Booked two balcony cabins that gave us great views. 

Shore excursions were a little expensive but worth it as everyone had a great time.  Complementary food was good with some variety.  Would highly recommend the drink packages as you cant bring drinks on board.   Word of caution, the drink packages only include soda and alcoholic drinks.  Your still paying for bottled water.

Overall great a great time.

My favorite part of the cruise was the staff....NCL does an outstanding job hiring qualified staff to make your cruise everything you hoped it would be.  I didn't have one negative encounter the entire 7 days I was with them.

Our cruise was planned as a two family reunion.  We would highly recommend this cruise for families.  The ages of our children ranged from 15-20.

As a first time cruiser, I must say that this cruise definitely lived up to my expectations. From the accommodations to the onboard entertainment and the ports of call, all lived up to it. I will for sure be booking another cruise in the future with Norwegian.

Food, activities, entertainment was off the chain, I  had the time of my life. Definitely  I'm  going on the getaway  again. My family also enjoyed every minute of the  cruise. They are planning  as well

The cruise was very nice.  The ship was great.  (A little compact). The hallways are very narrow. The rooms are nice but the balconies are small. I am not a smoker so I was glad to see a designated, contained area, poolside for those who like to smoke.  I only wish they could do the same in the casino.  The smoke traveled because three floors.  Not good.

Overall, the trip was good. 

There was so much to do. We didn't even experience it all. The specialty restaurants were, as expected, great. Some in the group didn't do an excursion but enjoyed ship and its amenities.
