If you sail on the Gem, be prepared for less than friendly staff overall, allot of selling and future sales, unorganization and lack of activities for the average person. Make sure you attend the show "Duo Quintessence" as it was awesome!

Spend lots of time on the outdoor, non-pool, deck (Deck 7), weather permitting. It's rarely crowded and provides a peaceful, relaxing getaway simply by stepping through a door.

Choose a table first and leave a jacket and empty purse on the seats to hold your place. Bring aluminum foil if you want a chance of eating warm food, not HOT, mind. Maybe if you have somewhere to sit your food will not be as cold when you actually sit down to eat!

Bring your own thermos or travel mug and fill up with coffee/tea at the outdoor Top Side bar in the early morning. Saves time and headache when you go for breakfast at the busy buffet.

If you are looking for activities and action.. this is not the ship to be on. Maybe if your are limited in your ability to get around or taking a cruise if you have nothing else going on for a week in your life...
