A: I was on the Gem in August and on embarkation day the Pacific MDR is open for lunch. It was quiet and enjoyable!

Q: Does the GEM have outdoor space like the waterfront on The Breakaway? If not, is there outdoor seating anywhere other than the pool area?

A: The Gem does have a promenade deck that wraps all the way around the ship. It’s not as fancy as the Waterfront on the newer ship. It’s mostly just a walking path but it does have some very limited seating down there. It’s almost always quiet if you’r... e looking for a place to get away from the crowds.See More
