NCL needs to do better with cabin charges, every casino charge is 3 %, the food is cold and your lucky if it is room temperature. More activities on board would be great , especially on Sea Days. Deck 15 Observation Room is beautiful and Peaceful..Drink Package is high at $109.00 daily, a 20% tip is automatically added , if you add a tip your double tipping the waiter and in the Speciality restaurants. You can order two of anything on the menu in The Complimentary Restaurants( additional charge for a third meal ) NCL , please train your front desk staff in Customer Service . Staff needs to speak and understand English. If NCL wants to be a 5 Star cruise line they need to train staff in Customer Service , Chefs training for food quality , recipes and better menu. If you want better service and food quality reserve with Celebrity , MSC or Regent .

This was the first time for my wife cruising the Mexican Riviera. She really liked it. We really loved the observation lounge on The Bliss.

Great trip on the Bliss by kaldob33

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

The Mexican Riviera on the NCL Bliss was a great trip. The Bliss is a large ship and was very crowded. Always something to do! The weather was great. November 6-12th the temperatures were in the 70s most of the days we were there. I recommend booking everything early as things fill up fast and get sold out. Crowded elevators and shows/events so plan ahead. Food and drinks were great. Room was great. Service was exceptional.

Beautiful locations, great staff, poorly planned vessel. by thomlamb

Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

This was a great cruise, overall. Not long enough, but at least it wasn't to short. I would recommend this length, though, for folks who are more local to the port. 5 days is way to short for someone not in the area of the port, given the travel accommodations needed to make it to the port and back home.

I have always appreciated the layout of the NCL ships. Our favorite retreat is the forward observation lounge, with its comfortable seating, relaxed atmosphere and panoramic views. by JeneverBrug

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

NCL no longer docks in town, but rather at Ward Cove, a 25 minute shuttle from town. With limited time in port already, this allows for even less time in Ketchikan. Juneau was good, as always. With the ship docking in the dark, around 8pm in Victoria, it makes it a why bother getting off the ship. And that’s ok, since time on the ship is enjoyable.

Norwegian was Great on the ship but getting off was HORRIBLE by DEEDENNY

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The cruise for us was great all up to the disembarkation when it became life-threatening for my wife when the separated us when I was not looking and down the exit ramps and took her back to the theater and would not tell her what was going on and she has Dystonia. If she has an attach with it, she must have her medicine right away and her brace put on. I had her brace and here medicine on my lap on my wheelchair. We were separated for 90 minutes with no way of knowing where each other were and all because norwegian owed us some money. WAS A REALLY SERIOUS 90 MINUTES AND NORWEGIAN COULD HAVE CARED LESS. (note=she was also in a wheelchair)

Worth the wait by nannascruff

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

We had a great time and would do it again. Some of the times in the ports were short, but we knew that when we booked the cruise so it was not a surprise. I guess if you want more time in the ports you should book a different cruise.

Good, but not great by seahawks12fan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Overall, meh… good, but not great. We wanted more, NCL didn’t deliver. The ship entertainment was not that good (comedy was 2nd class, Six was the worst production show I’ve seen, and Jersey Boys went on for far to long)… food was good for the most part, time spent in ports was the worst I’ve ever had. NCL docks very remotely, then you have to take a bus to get to town. When you only have 4 hours in port, then you take 30 min on each side to wait for the bus… it wasn’t enough time. Lots of people complained. Weather was good. Bar service was good. Our room steward never once called me by name or gave us towel art (plus I tipped her up front and thought she would have provided better service).

Trip of a lifetime by suecourtney33

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

For the most part it was a wonderful trip with a few exceptions. The Victoria port was useless and had to go through hoops for a 3 hr stop at night. A total waste of time. The staff on the Bliss was incredible and accommodating. All were super friendly and helpful. I did not enjoy the French restaurant food but the service was great. My only other complaint is people hogging the loungers and chairs in the observation lounge. We often found people sleeping on them when others couldn’t find a place to sit. People need to sleep in their cabins and not the lounge. The staff shouldn’t allow people to hog the loungers/chairs.

Great ship, super clean and the staff, food and entertainment were great. Wouldn’t go on this ship again ONLY because of the lack of time in the ports.

A Great Adventure by PVPHS97

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

It was my 1st cruise (2nd in total) since 2014 on a totally new cruise line. I was nervous and at most times overwhelmed, but I have always wanted to go to Alaska since 1996 (high school years c/o 97'), there was even a time between 1990- 2005 that I wanted to live and work in Alaska) so, it was a good nervous and overwhelming feeling. The NCL and all of the staff on Bliss made it a great adventure. I'll see the Sun in August 2023 for 10 adventure filled days in Alaska.

Outstanding Alaskan Cruise by clarson0607

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This was our first cruise and we were very impressed with the whole experience from checking in to the disembarkment. Every member of the ship was very delightful and amazingly friendly and so very helpful whenever we needed assistance. We were very impressed with our room service from Chona Carreon, she was very efficient and remembered our names after the first introduction. She was an angel who kept our room spotless and the covers were turned back every evening.

Outstanding cruise..but excursion to Danali was terrible by shirleyaudens

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Bliss was great…will do it again! But….the pre excursion from Seattle to Danali was a nightmare! Poor communication, NO forthcoming information on trip! Even Norwegian could not give information, we called multiple times ahead. Not until we arrived at hotel day of..did we receive itinerary….alll food was on our dime, no senior discounts (don’t eat that much). Every morning had to be up at 6:30am or earlier (Saturday 13th up at 3am….not into town Till 11pm night before). Average age was 60-70 year olds. I would NOT have signed up for this, if all information was forthcoming!!! Getting on & off bus constantly was horrific….the train ride was the only good thing (not till last day of day 4, only 3 hours). Was under the misconception that this was a full train ride…..not a constant bus ride.

This was a great trip with a few hiccups on a beautiful ship! We will be back to sail to Alaska again in the future but we'll do things a little different next time to get the most out of the ports of call. by dsylvia111
