Sorry to Report - Not Our Best Cruise by AllenRC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Unfortunately, this just turned out to be a trip where lots of things went wrong. With Norwegian's review, I prepared a lenghty response noting the issues. After entering my comments, a comment came up saying something to the effect "please note: the comments are not reviewed. If you wish to leave a comment that will be reviewed, go to this site." My original draft with my comments was over 4000 characters (had 10 issues). Norwegian limited my response to 3000 characters. Hopefully you will have a better experience. I will note that our last Alaska Cruise was with Royal Caribbean and we had a wonderful time.

Unpleasant Cruise Experience, Unorganized & Unplanned Staff by DECruiser1119

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

We did not get to visit or see any Glaciers, cruise director did not offer any alternative destinations as well. Guest Services, youth club, shore excursions, bar tenders in observation deck and garden cafe team were rude and not courteous. This is my first cruising experiencing with norwegian and it was very unpleasant. I had sailed with other multiple cruise liners (Royal Carribean, MSC, Carnival) before, they are better than norweigan.

Beautiful Alaskan Cruise by FunAfter50

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Overall, this was a great cruise experience. This is our second Alaskan voyage and if we decided to go again, this would be our go to ship and venue.

Great Alaska Cruise by keisha997

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Not having anything to compare with, I was really happy with my first cruise experience. It was a great way to see Alaska and wish we could spend more time at the ports during the time around 10am - 6pm.

ITs OK, but covered a lot of miles so more time on boat than off by zbkmorris

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

I guess if you like food and a lot drinking, it's not a bad deal, but I'm a wine drinker and not a heavy hard liquor guy. Again, had to cover a lot of sea to get from place-to-place so it was pretty much a boat ride.

Fun Alaska Cruise by Florida123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Wonderful cruise. We really enjoyed every minute. The exception was the Ketchikan port of call. NCL needs to inform passengers of the bus situation there so they can get out early and enjoy the city.

We loved the freestyle dining. If we did it again, we would never need to upgrade our dining package! Besides getting sick with upper respiratory issues and a little sea sick, the cruise was nice. by dnapuunoa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

It was worth what we paid for, but we were also glad that the ship had a hospital on board. They treated us well. Though it was not a super high class trip, it was a nice cruise in all.

Do not book this cruise by ladyevans

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

I would never recommend this cruise or cruiseline after this experience. You spend thousands of dollars to stand in line the majority of the time. Alaska is beautiful, but find a better cruise to experience it.

Pictures don’t do Alaska justice by rddone

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

I enjoyed the cruise. I like NCL style of dining and the number of restaurants to choose from when they are open. Alaska is beautiful and worthy of many trips to enjoy. The biggest regret is in not doing more research on how long you are in port. This itinerary has very short port stays 3-6 hours max. I would find a ship the has longer stays in port.

Wonderful by NikkiMcCullar

Amazing trip! Don't stay on the ship in Canada. It was one of our favorite stops! Only complaint food wasn't that good and only one smoking section.

Nice cruise - short day itinerary though. by pwsll

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

My husband and I went on this cruise with 2 other couples. Ages 50-65. We thought a few of the port times were quite short. In Juneau we only had 5 hours and we stood in line for Tracy's Crab Shack for 2 but it is worth it. Victoria was only a 3 hour stop so not much time there. In Sitka, we go there 2 hours before the gondola opened and had to be on the ship 3 hours after that so it was also a short port time.

Too early in season for Alaska by Wiskel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

We had previously cruised with NCL on the Sun with a similar itinerary but in late August,. The 6 am port calls meant not many stores and restaurants were open when we arrived, limiting time to grab crab legs to try or browse the town and shop. Also, found stores closed as it was too early in the season. I recommend waiting to cruise beginning in June.

Did not meet expectations. by dadtunes

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

If you are expecting to see tall walls of frozen glaciers calving off, you will not. The buffet is worse than you will expect due to food not hot or even warm. The excursions on shore are not worth it if you are already a country person who has seen snow covered mountains. Do not expect to see much wildlife. The best was an eagle which I have seen before. The staff is absolutely excellent and friendly. Watch as many videos as possible before your cruise. This will help you find the best of the cruise. Book directly through Norwegian or a trusted travel agent. Avoid all other companies that promise you savings. Review web sites for what you should bring on the cruise. You need less than you think. Be friendly with other guests and it will make your cruise much better. Do not be afraid to talk to the staff. They can make your experience much better.

Not worth the $$$-Choose another cruise ship by jhoward36

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

This was my 28th anniversary trip and a bucket list. I was so looking forward to making special memories, but was very disappointed in this trip. The only excursion that we booked was to see the Glacier, which was canceled for no reason before our trip. Plus the Dawes Glacier we did not get close enough but the boat was to do 360 degree turn, but did not, it moved 45 degrees each direction and backed out and we left. I reached out to NCL but have not responded.

Alaska never disappoints by rvaughn30

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

This was the second time on the Bliss and 5th NCL cruise. I am already looking at a future cruise in the Haven on the Bliss. The way the staff treat you, you want to keep going back. This was also our second Alaskan cruise and we will continue to go back. The beauty is breathtaking and even if you don't get off the ship in port, the views are worth the trip.

It was suppose to be a Dream Vacation by trhixson

When cruising check the ports you will be visiting. If you want a quick on and off at each port and don't want to do some exploring than this cruise is for you. If you want to spend more time at each port than consider another cruise or cruise line
