This was our first cruise during the pandem!c. We felt this would be a safe voyage for us because we’ve sailed with HAL to Alaska once before and they did such a stunning job pre-cov!d that we trusted them implicitly…and I’m pleased to report that they did not disappoint. Our room stewards were outstanding. The guests masked appropriately. We spent much of this voyage in our room enjoying the balcony, easy and expansive room service menu, the long list of available movies (we watched a record breaking 22 movies; nearly all of them new to us though not new in release date!), and breathtaking views of Alaska. We had great weather on this trip and Glacier Bay was a transformative experience this time. I pray that everyone has such a lovely Glacier Bay viewing experience! Icy Strait Point was also new to us this time and we really enjoyed this casual, homey port. Once again, HAL knocked it out of the park.

As this was our first cruise and first time visiting Alaska, we weren't sure what to expect. I was so pleased with the excursions as well as the cruise itself. It was well coordinated and enjoyable.

This was our first cruise after the covid shutdown and everything was perfect. HAL required a vaccine and a negative covid test in order to board. Once on the ship, we were given HAL masks and 95% of the pax and 100% of the crew wore masks. We felt comfortable with HAL’s covid protocols and we never heard of anyone having problems. There was no spot to rate the ports. Glacier bay was incredible and the fishing in Ketchikan was awesome but we had to book our own fishing trip as the one the ship offered was completely booked.

Would have been the perfect cruise if only there was more entertainment on board. Was a little too sedate. However, the room was beautiful and the scenery spectacular. The food on Holland America is always great.

Four stops in Alaska in addition to Glacier Bay was an excellent way to cruise Alaska. The two days at sea were also relaxing as not many activities for my age group were available. I appreciated being able to attend Catholic mass as it was offered daily. I extremely appreciate not being mandated to wear a mask as all were vaccinated on the ship to my knowledge.

Had high hopes for our first cruise with Holland America but we were sadly disappointed in pretty much everything starting with our stateroom where we found the trash hadn’t even been emptied (rotten fruit pits, etc), pillow smelled so bad they kept us awake, first meal was pork tenderloin, served almost raw. Went down from there. Unless you paid to upgrade your food, it was all pretty terrible and Entertainment was dull.

We actually went on a two-week cruise. This was the first part of a 14-day cruise. Our second week included Key West (loved this port), Turks & Caicos (beach was great and snorkeling excursion was cancelled but snorkeled off beach), Amber Cove beach resort was awesome and relaxing. We really enjoyed cruising with Holland American. The Nieuw Amsterdam was a great ship, the ports were great and provided a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Enjoyed the cruise. Service was impeccable- love this ship.

It was a very relaxing two weeks of cruising bliss. The crew was very friendly, the food was great and the ship was well maintained.

Our second cruise! We love cruising. The staff are so caring and knowledgeable. We missed Turks and Caicos due to rough seas. Several days of this (right after the Puerto Rico) earthquakes. So that can make the seas rougher. We made friends with several couples on ship and had a fantastic time. Can’t wait for next year!

Perfect cruise for a winter getaway. I used a EmeTerm anti nausea band & it worked! We had 13 foot waves for 2 days & I was fine.

Lovely cruise. HAL is the best. Not for the drunken party crowd and no water slides, but elegant ship with impeccable service.

Did not offer cancellation when they couldn’t fulfill itinerary. Gave each passenger token on board credit for much bigger failure to deliver. Dishonest business practice by HAL.

Great cruise. 7 days is never long enough so we did a back to back cruise and celebrated Christmas, our anniversary and New Years.

Wonderful cruise once again on Holland America. Have never found a reason to change to another cruise line.

This was a very relaxing cruise as my husband was recovering from surgery.
