Nice overall but lack of coffee options is a real bummer by javachipSQL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Seashore / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Two issues that really tainted our trip: 1. They would not give us the onboard credit for being Gold member because we got the military discount. That doesn't seem right to me. We weren't asking for further discounts, just the two $50 onboard credits 2. Brooklyn Cafe which served great coffee, was closed almost every afternoon for 3-4 hours at a time for some "private event". Yacht club did have OK coffee, which was the saving grace, but I much preferred the frozen coffee drinks at Brooklyn. I don't know about others, but I really need a cup of coffee drink in the afternoon as a pick-me-up. It's mind boggling that they would shut down the only coffee place that's open to all guests (and free if you have the drink package, because Venchi is not free). On the day at Ocean Cay, I was hoping we could get a free coffee drink at the cafe on the island, but no, that's extra cost. They told me to go to Brooklyn so it would be free. So we returned back on the ship - but of course, Brooklyn was having another "private event". I hope MSC was paid generously for these "private events" because I can't sail with them again for this reason.

worse cruise ever! by louisecorbeil

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Seashore / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Had to fight for our package Wifi and beverage. Took 2 days to get it. Some other overcharges had to fight to remove! The design of the ship does not reflect the good taste of Italians. Food was very average, even the cocktails were not tasty. The best on this cruise were the shows at night! Also loved the 2 pianists.

good time by cherlpaw

We did enjoy are cruise mostly because we had great weather and were with family. Generally I wouldn't recommend MSC . When reading other comments if you want great experience on this line you need to go Yacht club. Other previous MSC cruisers have also been disappointed with the food saying it has gone downhill since they cruised before. Also for a ship that is less than 6 months old I was expecting EVERYTHING to be working on this ship and also a little more updating such as hands free doors and other such things.

Pretty good experience for the money by mbeck1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Seashore

overall a decent cruise. we had some rough weather the first few nights so that was not as pleasant but it was calmer the farther in we got. the activities and shows done by the ship were very poor and we simply sat by the pool most of the time we were on the ship. our ports of call were mostly good but our stop in the caymans was cancelled which we were very excited for and Falmouth Jamaica, which it is not letting me review for some reason, was downright terrible. they charge $20 per person one way to get to a beach 10 minutes away that is very overcrowded and not nice at all. the pier is nice with lots of shops but i suggest not leaving the gates and just getting back on the boat. while it was a decent cruise i will certainly just pay a little more to go with a different line like Royal Caribbean next time.

First time cruising with MSC by petreehouse11

MSC is just not ready for the American cruisers. It is a beautiful ship, but service is not up to par.

Don't do it! Rude, untrained and understaffed crew ruined my expensive family vacation! Never again MSC by TheKaren

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Seashore / Destination: Caribbean - Western

AND if you end up missing a Port of call, they'll give you a $50 OBC power cabin but refuse to refund your Port taxes. At $62 per person on a family of seven that's way more than a $50 OBC! Never again MSC!!

Good enough by DanPel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

It was good overall. Covid made things challenging so it’s not fair to compare to pre Covid cruises. Dining package was amazing but hola was a little disappointing. This was my 3rd MSC so I knew what to expect. I would definitely recommend because it probably is the best line for value in what you get to what you pay.

We throughly enjoyed our vacation! There were a few issues, logistically speaking, but we didn’t allow it to ruin our vacation.

MSC Seashore mixed feelings by JohnnyFive

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Seashore

MSC messed up with my booking - no wifi or drinks plus package. I was really pissed off. Had to buy both and they had to contact main office, got the drinks package refunded day 2 but the wifi not until day 3 as they had to contact the main office again. Had paper work but they didn't trust it. If this happens to you buy it and wait for the refund in a few days during the cruise after contacting CS on the ship. Make sure you go see CS before the ship leaves Miami. Specialty dining was great - MDR hit or miss ( depends on what you order) buffet was the same food everyday and food was cold ) it was ok. 1600 people on board 20% in there 40s - 70% in there 50s or older - found one group of about 40 people to party with in their 20s - if it was not for them the cruise would have been boring. We end up at the casino bar to party and finally they opened uptown lounge the last 2 nights for us with a DJ. ( this ship has no night club) White party was fun - glow party was fun. Slides and basketball court only only open after 2 pm until about 6pm (so sad ) Main pool really small. They only had 1 person taking drink orders - you had to go to the bar and get your own. I like that 50% of the passengers were from europe, very kool and different. Bar tenders were great, my waiter was great, staff said hi to me all the time when just walking by. Over all I would not sail MSC again but if it was really cheap and I was on a budget I would.

Yacht Club Is The Way Cruising Should Be by morpheusofthe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Seashore / Destination: Caribbean - Western

A couple of years ago we read reviews of MSC that were never flattering, until someone reviewed the Yacht Club and how different treatment and food was compared to outside the YC. So we gave the YC a shot and now we are not looking back and are booking up our future with MSC YC.

Great ship, staff is friendly, service is great. Do not expect a cruise during Covid to be the same as before. These cruise lines are trying their best. Can’t wait to go on this ship again soon

I wouldn't recommend this ship because MSC appears to be unethical in sales tactics and does not deliver on its marketing promises.

MSC disappointed this time. by ianmayall

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Seashore

Christmas cruise 23-30 Dec. Boarding was very poor. Very disorganized. No explanation of lines. They just pointed us to a line that turned out to be the "we don't have all the paperwork ready" line. Realized after 20 mins. Boarding took 2+ hours (without test) Compared to maybe 30 mins on the Meriviglia (with test) back in Aug. Was looking forward to trying the Seashore. Lovely interior. Cabins great and spacious (we had oceanview). No "central avenue" for the shops and attractions like most mega ships. Were split over decks 6 and 8 (casino between on 7). I would describe it as a ship of pockets both for entertainment, bars and pools. Main aft pool on deck 17 was quite small considering size of ship. We mainly went to the jungle pool area and pirates coves with the kids which were great. Note kids need to be 7 yrs + for the bigger slides even if they meet height reqs. Lots of Jacuzzis and the whirlpools on the side of deck 8 were extremely relaxing. Food in buffet was fine. Minimal variation over 7 days but I didn't mind. MDR was pretty poor. Sailed on the Meriviglia in Aug and Choice was much better incl steak option every night which was now a $9.99 surcharge. I not a fussy eater and cannot recall a single meal in the MDR that I was excited about. Shame. Entertainment was limited. Partially due to Covid outbreak and quarantined staff. I really enjoyed our cruise on the Meriviglia in Aug 2021 and was looking forward to this one but was unfortunately disappointed. Paying a premium for a Christmas cruise I expected a little more but it was pretty much a regular type cruise with the odd Christmas hat with staff. Far too much overselling of on-board restaurants in the buffet. Approached 3-4 times daily while having breakfast which became a little tiring. Nice to see the different nationalities on-board and the Europeans managing to come over. Changed itineraries due to Covid were fine, that's the world we live in. Was excited about this one and unfortunately it didn't quite hit the mark. Preferred Meriviglia as a ship style (my daughter will challenge that though as she love the pirates cove). 2 MSC cruises so far. 1 I enjoyed. 1 not so much.
