Review summary

We booked this cruise after we got off the MSC Meraviglia, on its second sailing out of Miami in August ‘21. We were upgraded from an Aurea 2 bedroom Grand Suite to two Yacht Club Deluxe Grand Suites. Not sure we can sail any other way ever again. The Yacht Club experience was definitely elevated. Our MSC Seashore cruise was amazing and we made some beautiful memories. The staff in the Yacht Club and beyond deliver red and we appreciated everything they did.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was smooth, it was torrential downpour on the morning of embarkation. Our shuttle dropped us off at the Yacht Club tent and then we were ushered to stay under the tent until they were able to gold tag our luggage. After everything was tagged, we were escorted through every step of the embarkation process. From checking vaccination cards, to going through security, and picking up our cruise cards and bracelets. The longest portion of the process was waiting for embarkation on to the ship, we weee offered refreshments and snacks, and had the opportunity to use the bathroom. YC were first to be boarded and we were escorted by a butler through the waiting area and up the escalator!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Having cruised with MSC previously and unimpressed by the main dining room and buffet meals, we were skeptical to say the least but We were more than impressed by MSC Seashore’s offerings in the YC restaurant, lounge, pool deck bar and grill, speciality dining venues, and Marketplace Buffet!

Butcher's Cut

5 out of 5

Another exceptional speciality dining venue. We chose this venue for our daughter’s birthday celebration and we were not disappointed!

Kaito Sushi

5 out of 5

If you like sushi you will enjoy this experience. The sushi was good and the ramen was a great value.

Madison Theatre

5 out of 5

We were able to make reservations and watch 5 out of the 7 shows. The entertainment has been fine tuned and not nearly as abstract as I had read in previous reviews. No problem with seating in the Yacht Club area.

Kaito Teppanyaki

5 out of 5

Great show and huge amounts of food! Our children love Teppanyaki and Kaito did not disappoint!

Top Sail Lounge

5 out of 5

Incredible afternoon teas, I was able to introduce my children to a proper high tea which they loved so much we indulged on several occasions!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We really loved the slides, Waterpark, and the YC pool deck.

Boutique

5 out of 5

The girls and I like to window shop, this trip they had not packed their crossbody bags but we were able to find a couple of reasonable and sufficiently ‘blingy’ bags to meet their needs in the accessories boutique. They also enjoyed the candy selection in the Duty Free shop!

MSC Yacht Club Sun Deck & Pool

5 out of 5

My favorite venue, quiet, relaxing, and always had drinks, food, and snacks. I was able to keep the same lounger and area for the entire 8 day sailing.

Pirates Cove Aquapark

5 out of 5

Our children loved the Waterpark and slides, the wait time was minimal even on a sea day!

Entertainment

5 out of 5

Hall of Games

5 out of 5

We had pre-purchased a couple of fun passes because our kids like to play the games. The Hall of Games has a number of games that you can earn tickets which can be redeemed for prizes. The kids spent a fair bit of time here when not on the slides, at kids club, or in the pool. Money well spent, get the fun pass!

Children's Programs

5 out of 5

Mini and Junior Club

5 out of 5

Our girls LOVED the kids program, they loved it on the Meraviglia and they loved it even more on the Seashore. I cannot say enough about how hard working the kids club workers are to keep up and entertain these kiddos!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had some amazing staff and I know I can’t remember everyone’s names but I have to give a shout out to Agus and Ronald, our YC butlers and room attendant, Erick the YC Maitre D, all the staff in the YC in the restaurant, lounge, pool deck, and at Ocean House; Janette, in the Aurea Spa, and the photographers around the ship. The service we received was beyond our expectations and our cruise will always be memorable because if the people who made it possible.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
MSC Seashore was shiny and clean, as we have come to expect from MSC. Our cabin was immaculate, and even the hallways, central areas, and entertainment areas are cleaned constantly.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our suites (We had 19030 and 19032) were immaculate, lots of space for families. We had 3 in each suite, one with the beds split, one we kept together. The sofa sleeper is plenty big enough for two children, and there is a lot of storage and hanging space with two wardrobes and a full walk in wardrobe in each. The balcony partition was already open for us and there is room on these balconies to accommodate a lounger too. This is the side of the ship if you want to watch the Ocean Cay Lighthouse show from your balcony.

Ship tip

Remember it is a European cruise line, the food is very diverse, and so are your fellow cruisers.

Ports of call

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

5 out of 5
First time in Jamaica and we really enjoyed learning about it and seeing some sights!

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Grand Cayman was probably our favorite port on this trip. We went on the Catamaran and Stingray City excursion and loved it! 100% recommend this excursion for families.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
This port is always packed I have been told and with 5 other ships in port, most beach clubs were crazy busy. I recommend checking to see who else is in port with you before paying for excursions!

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
Port if Miami will always have a place in our heart, every time we approach it, my heart flutters with excitement!

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
This is our second time on Ocean Cay, first time in Yacht Club and Ocean House. We did not rent a cabana but we did take a wave runner tour.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
No one likes disembarkation day but with butler escort off the ship, 1 AM luggage drop, it made disembarkation a little less painful. All our luggage was ready waiting for us as we got off the ship, YC luggage area is the first area you come to. Aside from one of us having to have our passport checked manually, facial recognition technology made the whole process smooth.

Thanks for the insight, we are in the yacht club in July on the seashore, nice to hear positive feedback. My wife was on the Seashore in November, at the time the food was hit or miss.

Thanks for sharing your cruise

Glad you enjoyed it. Another recent reviewer on the same ship seemed to like nothing about it. I guess it depends on the attitude of the person sailing.
