Review summary

Had a wonderful time. Thank you MSC.

Embarkation

Fairly good. Went through first line and show docs. Then second line is the real check in line and you get your room key and pass.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Buffet was huge with many options. Always the best pizza. But used to have made to order pizza. Now not an option at the buffet. Main DR was good. Some items were hit or miss but we love Mediterranean and Greek cuisine so we loved it. Sushi was excellent. And Hola Mexican Tex Mex was awesome!

HOLA! Tacos & Cantina

5 out of 5

Excellent all I can eat.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Fitness center was large and had many equipment for a cruise. Not too many activities setting at the right time. Dance classes were usually held during dinner or lunch. So didn’t really get an opportunity to try them out.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Excellent adult style nightlife entertainment and shows. White night. Flower night. The quest.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent service!!! With exception of island carts and buses. And with exception of security at ports of calls.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
New ship so it’s beautiful. Really very nice. But the elevators with floor selection on the outside is the worst idea. Horrible. Usually walk the stairs instead of waiting. Can’t just jump into elevators going up or down. Also the ship layout on the 16 and 18 floors are totally crazy and confusing. Ship’s architect should be fired. Because of the Yacht Club you are unable to access the 19 floor from front elevators and it’s a crazy mess.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved the cabin and the balcony. Seems like the normal balcony cabins come in one of two mirror images. Either bed is close to the balcony or sofa is close to the balcony. We prefer bed next to balcony. That way there’s more walking room when entering the room and close to the bath. Cabin stewards do an excellent job cleaning up. Great room. Awesome view.

Ship tip

A few areas where MSC comes up short. Port exit and onboard. No music and excitement like NCL. Also security treats you like a criminal. Seems like they are just rude. No smiles. Private island. The golf carts and buses try to do their best to do over 20 mph on the walkways and blow their horns to try and run you over. Very non Disney like and quite rude. And would love anytime dining.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Actually very nice. Mostly your luggage is placed in a small numbered area so easy to locate instead of a huge airport section of 1000’s of luggage to sift through

Honorable mentions. Nurse Ivy in the Medical Center was wonderful in assisting with 3 year old grand daughter. She was a blessing. Venchi chocolates are so delicious!
