We were disappointed for long lines for embarkation. We were not told that we would have to disembark after 3 days of cruise to continue on our 10 days on ship at cape carnevale always very long lines at bar areas every time we asked for ginger ale sodas they were always out of stock!

Caribbean by Ltnpr

Pros...clean & Ocean Kay Marine. Cons.. Food no flavor, disorganized check in & out, too many early announcements, too little time to expend at Nassau, Bahamas, No loco souvenirs at Ocean Kay, NO cash accepted, no credit card accepted. Cash & credit card need to be linked to their system in order to shop.

I can't sugar coat it by kmh123069

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Meraviglia / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Bars - HORRIBLE. Every bar that was open would have a 20 minute wait. Bars during the entertainment (ie Trivias) were ALWAYS closed down - this doesn't make one bit of sense except MSC is trying to save money on drinks!!! Paying for shows - RIDICULOUS, this is a crock of crap! That is why we go on a cruiseship - to have entertainment and things to do at our fingertips! And our 3 night cruise was over 900 with the drink pkg! EXPENSIVE for what we got! Luckily having family there - we had a good time. We all though the food was pretty darn good! We won't pay for the extra restaurants. Also, it wasn't clear what bars accepted the drink plus pkg. Finally, 3 couples all family scheduled dinner for 6:15 and they did not seat us all together. They did work it out but at a different time - but this is also a lack of organization by MSC and .

Great Cruise by Emcrec

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

It was a great cruse. Be sides being a little short handed we were totally satisfied with the effort MSC put in to try to make this a great experience, and they successfully achieved this. We had a great time. The private island and the ship was fantastic . It was a very relaxing trip with many great memories.

Surprisingly wonderful and dynamic cruise. by Peter100

I would go again with MSC. The food/service/cleanliness was excellent. COCO-CAY is a disaster there is nothing of interest on it.

Miserable by Sickpuppy2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Worst cruise I have ever taken and there have been several. Miserable experience from start to finish. Okay - I was suckered in by the low ball price but I knew that ... upgraded to a balcony. Cabin was okay - balcony almost big enough for two chairs, but, again, that is to be expected. Would have been nice if the panels under the railing were clean enough to actually see through. Solved the missing towels problem by just stealing them of the cart. Can not believe that with all the purported attention to hygiene per covid, etc., that the facial tissues have been removed - nice little cover plate over the dispenser - and none available for purchase on the ship. Most serious concern is for the mandatory evacuation drill requirement which was repeatedly hammered into us as always ... watch the video, follow the map an the back of your door to check in at your assigned rally point. The only problem was that the directions said to go one way and the crew said to go the other and just couldn't understand why we and many others were confused. In a real event confusion leads to panic and panic leads to casualties. Strong work. So now the food and drink. Totally concur with other negative reviews. Marketplace was typical cafeteria food - sometimes. Eggs and omelets - stand in line - told no omelets - have eggs. Did find a little sausage gravy left, but no biscuits. Etc. etc. Beverage bar ... home of the mystery drink - no labels - not that it really mattered because most were usually empty anyway. Have the drink package, but first you have to find a waiter to get something. Dining room prime rib kinda resembles a minute steak. Second night I ordered a pasta dish that lead to twenty four hours of vomiting ... and I haven't vomited in twenty years. Tried to contact medical but no luck. Second day of illness I was able to go down to the information desk where I was told I could not talk to medical by phone but had to personally go down to the medical station. When I did so I was assured there were no other reports of GI problems and indicated I must be allergic to seafood (in the pasta.) I live on Cape Cod. I eat seafood. Later I personally learned in conversation with other departing passengers of numerous other such incidents. That evening, my wife again went to dining without me and ordered a different dish including pasta ... mistake. She became ill with GI problems of her own. Both of our illnesses continued for the rest of the cruise - never left the ship at the wonderful Ocean Cay. My wife was so ill on arrival back at Port Canaveral that I went back to the desk to request some kind of accommodation. I was advised that we needed to vacate the cabin and either wait in the assigned area or go ashore and wait for our baggage there - the only options - no exceptions despite Me stating it was highly likely my wife would end up vomiting on the furniture. No consideration. So we vacated the cabin as ordered and stopped in the Market Place where my wife experienced a grand mal seizure and promptly vomited on the table. I requested/demanded medical assistance from three different crew members but it never happened. I rendered supportive aid as best I could and my wife recovered sufficiently to get off the ship to our relief. Enough - you get the picture.

Another great cruise on MSC by jrfritz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our 3rd voyage on the Meraviglia in the past 13 months. It continues to be one of our favorite ships. I have to mention Ryan from St. Lucia working in the Horizon Bar. We have seen him on all of our voyages and he is the best of the bar staff. Not only is he very engaging to talk to but he can serve 3 passengers in the time it takes anyone else to serve one. He shows a great knowledge of how the logistics and stocking of the bar must be done. Andres from the Dominican Republic was also one of our favorites. As a whole the Horizon Bar staff was much more friendly and efficient than any other bar on the ship. My only complaint would be doing crew shows in the Promenade on deck 6 immediately after the Broadway show ends when most everyone is trying to get to the aft dining rooms.

Food poising! This was the worst cruise ever! From getting on and not getting our military discount refunded to leaving….. the only goid part was (Ricky) our room attendant who kept my room clean and towels with as sick as I was from food poisoning. by mopchop27

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Ended up in the hospital after 5 days of food poisoning and even had an infection from being SO sick…. My poor husband couldn’t get me a ginger ale… they didn’t have any…. No gatorades or any such kind available…. Needed Imodium …. None on board …. The real Clincher was when my husband got it the final night and had to fly home to Nashville on the plane in the bathroom…. At least Southwest had ginger ale …. I could go on but it’ll just make me angry😡 it was our 5th anniversary

Will use this cruise line again. The ship was beautiful great kids area. My only complaint is the bar staff is definitely under staffed. This ship was very clean and all off the staff was very friendly. Will use this line again.

Underwhelming. Slow bar service, rude staff, high school cafeteria tasting food and fare. by Catrell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Meraviglia / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I am a seasoned cruiser. This was my first MSC experience and it will be the last. The specialty restaurant staff are rude. Room service takes 2 hours to get someone on the phone to take an order. The food was not what one would expect on a cruise. It was like dinning in a high school cafeteria. The bar service was deplorable the ship departed the port at 6pm and they ran out of tequila at 2pm. Each day was more and more disappointing. 90 minute wait times for a drink. Trust me, do not book with this cruise line.

Overall our first cruise trip was great except for the experience of lost luggage and that is also something we learned from our experience. We certainly will be better prepared for our second, third.... cruise trip!
