We will not sail with MSC again! Worst cruiseline we've ever sailed on!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation went perfectly. Very fast.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Food in main dining rooms & buffets were not good, & not many good options to choose from. The main dining staff cater more to Yacht Club guests!! We were constantly running out of drink, or food was cooked wrong.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Couldn't get reservations for any activities or shows. Said they were booked up way before ship sailed.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
Have no idea, we couldn't get reservations for ANY of them!
Children's Programs
1 out of 5
Our grandchildren never got to do any of the kids activities. Because we were never given any literature about events or schedules for kid events.
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
The ONLY person that gave us exceptional service was our room steward! He was beyond exceptional!! No other employees interacted with us at all, other than our wait staff at dinner. The entire time we were on our cruise, not even one person came up to ask if we needed a drink or service of any kind. We had to wait in long lines to try and order a drink & even then the bartenders just ignored you & focused on the drunks sitting at their bar! Beyond infuriating!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Beautiful ship!
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Cabin was perfect with exception to the mattresses! The mattresses are so hard that I ended up flipping over numerous times a night because the mattress hurt my hips due to how hard it was. We had 7 people total in our group and 5 were adults. All 5 of us were having problems sleeping because of how hard the mattresses were! They are awful!
Ship tip
DON'T sail with MSC!! We've been on probably 20 cruises in the past with Carnival, Royal Caribbean & Norwegian. MSC was terrible!
We had to do self assist due to an early flight. Self assist was very disorganized, no announcements or instruction on where to go or wait to exit the ship. Very chaotic disembarkation!
We sailed on the same MSC ship and it wasn't for us either. We've sailed with Carnival, Holland America, and Princess. Have to agree seems like MSC focuses on YC passengers. Customer service staff are not helpful at all. We prefer Princess Cruises, especially if you are looking for service, we feel they are the best.
People either love or hate MSC. Others on the same sailing said it was excellent and loved the food, entertainment, etc. I’ve been on four MSC Cruises for a total of 33 days in the past year and loved it. I thought the food, entertainment, service, etc. was equivalent to or better than Carnival or Royal Caribbean. Lots of great selections in the dining room each night, with a good variety for everyone.
