My only thing I would recommend is when on Grand Cayman make sure the taxi/shuttle driver knows exactly which beach you are going to. Ours took us all to one place that only one couple wanted to go to and would not take us where we planned. However all worked out fine and we had a great time anyhow.
Check in early and get a ticket for the ice show. You don't need to show up early for other shows. They're usually half empty due to the quality of the shows.
- Unless you are a smoker, the casino will turn you off.
- Be ready to stand in line with long waits at embarkation and debarkation.
- Plan your excursions ahead of time to avoid last minute decisions.
Theater shows were okay. One out of five was really excellent. Food was average. Fresh veggies are very few and not healthy for the most part. State rooms are nice. Ship clean and tidy. Internet is not free and very slow. It hardly functioned and is certainly not worth the cost
Only negatives were lack of sports bar and the seating at the pool. The majority of time, it was impossible to find a seat at the pool unless you put a towel on a chair before 9am (which was not allowed) but happened every day.
For example: $6 blackjack on the afternoon in you are in Labadee. Tables open at 3pm. The casino was dead.
At Labadee lunch is from 11:30am to 1:30pm, go early. Food runs out, fellow passengers get a little irritated, and the workers deal with this everyday, so they are indifferent
At Labadee, I returned from an excursion and tried to grab some lunch and everything was pretty much gone even though it was still lunch time. There were no ice carvings, fruit displays, and lunch menu and availability was real basic and not much offered. I was not WOWED at all.
I heard people complaining about not knowing what was going on...HELLO...they never read any of the news letters delivered each evening for the next day. Communications is wonderful on these big ships.
Don't miss the ice show. It's fantastic with a broad appeal. The featured violinist is wonderful. My mother and I went twice. On my cruise, attendance was organized by muster station, but you can attend any show if there is seating available.
Get into Windjammer early and not near closing time or else you are herded into a very small area and selection of food. Staff starts roping you off a full half hour before closing time. Olive and Twist lounge was nice good band each night.
Stay away for the excursion in Cozumel . they are overprizec and for example the "Playa Mia" is not a good beach and the water park are no better than the ship has. People said is better to take a local car and make a tour for the not touristic part of the island.
