Be prepared to take the stairs, especially if you only need to go up or down one or two deck levels. You'll save a lot of time.

Pay attention to the Cruise Compass. We missed out on quite a few activities.

I loved how they had interactive maps of the boat outside of the elevator, so neat

Take time to explore this ship. She's a beauty. The staff is fantastic.

I have several pieces of advice: Don’t book a spa package before your cruise; prices go down significantly while on board. Bring your own books. The library was raided on Day 1 so don’t count on that as your sole resource of materials. Get the WiFi package halfway through your cruise to save money. (Yes, they will allow that!) Bring your own Bluetooth speaker in case the music onboard is not your style.

I would not suggest anyone to go to Royal Caribbean after how we were treated on our 15 year anniversary. I've cruised with Royal a lot but this was the worse vacation I've ever experienced.

My Google Review ..... Dealing with Priceline was like that icky feeling you get when leaving a sleezy car dealer. Had I looked here and seen all of the other 1 star reviews I would have used Vacations to Go again. We just returned from a cruise on RCCL Independent of the Seas and would like to spit on Priceline. They really messed up our vacation and they did it on purpose. Because Priceline rep Denise X. intentionally lied to us about our cruise booking we ended up sharing our balcony stateroom with our youngest kid. We are really P.O.'d at Priceline. We spent a lot of time planning this cruise and went over the details with Priceline agent over and over. We bought a balcony stateroom for 2 adults and an inside stateroom for our 3 kids across the hall. She insisted that the inside stateroom accommodated 3 kids. When we arrived and saw the inside it was clear she was wrong and RCCL front desk manager told us that if she was an experienced cruise travel agent then it's difficult for RCCL manager to see how she could have done it on accident. My advice use Vacations To Go.com We have done 10 cruises with them and won't be using Priceline ever again.

Have fun and don't sweat the small stuff!!! Our iternary was changed the day before we left, but our last stop was Perfect Day at Coco Cay, how could I be upset about that?!

The regular small water bottles are fine - but I like having large bottle water to carry around and have in the room. With the premium package you can ask for the large Evian waters and that was great. I got them at windjammer and at the cafe.

They had a special on the speciality restaurants, $100 per person for 5 meals

Embrace the beauty that is the “Whole” of the Independence of the Seas!

Sleek and steady ship. Came in to port following cold front NE winds 20- 25 knots, never moved smooth as silk

Be prepared that most everything cost additional and very few food areas are included in your trip.
