Loved the Disney Magic! by MelissaI2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We just returned home from a week on the Disney Magic. What a great trip! Everything was easy... there were no hassles! The rooms were very nice, the crew was fabulous, the characters were everywhere, the professional photographers were very good, the evening shows were excellent, the kids enjoyed the kids clubs. The only things we didn't like was the pools were very crowded on sea days and the food wasn't great... especially the breakfast buffet. The dinner choices got better as the week progressed though. We only had to tender into one port (Grand Cayman). Castaway Cay was the best! There were 8 in our group and we all had a wonderful time!

Disney can be Magic by Rick3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Disney Magic is just that; there is something for everyone and lots to enjoy. Entertainment is at the center of everything. Their shows - while somewhat slanted towards a young audience - are of excellent quality and pure enjoyment. The Oceanear Club and Oceanear Lab are really good activity centers for children; however, beware of the number of kids under the age 6, despite Disney's efforts, young children may be overwhelmed by how many of their peers can be checked into the kid's program at a given time. If you love Disney, you won't be disappointed. Characters are everywhere and you have multiple opportunities to see everyone you love. While some of the Disney touches are subtle, most knock you over the head - in a good way. Food on the Disney Magic varies. For some experienced diners or cruisers, the food selection may be a bit too basic; however, the quality was excellent and Disney showed a real commitment to meeting the needs of the whole family. I was impressed with Disney's customer service. They responded immediately and effectively to any expressed concerns and I was consistently happy with their response. Our family of 5 had a wonderful time and enjoyed every single day on the Disney Magic.

Double Dip Cruise by Cod

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time. Not a huge fan of Costa Maya, I do not know what the draw is. We went to the spa was fun; I had my first and probably last facial. My wife will be back. I enjoyed spending my time in the sports bar. This is a great vacation for families with children. It is worth the money and it is MUCH more relaxing than the whole Disney World thing. If you or your children get tired, you go to your cabin or the pool and relax.

fabulous, more than what i expected by VanessaM2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was the third Disney cruise that my family and I have been on and I enjoyed this one just as much or more than the very first one. The part that I suppose I enjoyed the most was the family atmosphere. There was not alot of drinking and of course no casinos, which was wonderful for me. That to me was the best. The ship was very user friendly also. Easy to get around.

Disney Magic !! by SandyW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Just got back from a 7 day western carribean Disney cruise. Very nice, very clean, well laid out ship with lots for kids to do. We wish there was a bit more for adults to do and the shore excursions were somewhat constrained. The adults only parts of the boat are a great idea but not very well monitored. Most of the parents brought their kids with them. The ports (Key West, Grant Cayman and Cozumel) were fine but shore time was short. No mid-night buffet, not that anyone needs one on these cruises, but they had a lovely dessert buffet the next to the last night. Rotating restaurants (3) but keep same wait staff was unique and pleasant. Unfortunately, all 3 restaurants were quite loud and not necessarily because of the kids. Cruise marketed for families and couples - great for families, OK for couples.

Disney is the Best by Gehl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Disney does everything that other cruise lines do, but they do it better. Not just one dining room but three. Of course, there is a deluxe dining room (for a mere $10 extra). Castaway Key is the highlight of the cruise.

Great Cruise by MaryL30

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was the second Disney Magic cruise my father and I took, traveling with my brother and his family. This second cruise was just as wonderful as our first cruise which we took a year ago. I am most impressed with the staff on the ship. There is nothing they would not do to make our trip a wonderful experience. The variety of restaurants, and the varied menus accomadate all tastes, and the Palo's, the gourmet restaurant is a treat I will never forget. As a matter of fact, if I'm disappointed, it's only that we waited til the end of the week to try Palo's, and if we had dined there earlier, we would have dined there more often, it was simply superb. The ship itself is a sight to behold, and all other cruise ships at port paled by comparison. It is without a doubt the most impressive ship to behold. When we went ashore, we were ofter stopped by guests of other cruise lines, all wanting to know about the Magic. We were delighted to speak to them, and bragging about the Magic was no chore. Since I was traveling family members that crossed three generations, I would be remisss if I didn't mention that it was as enjoyable for my 82 year old father as it was for my six year old neice. Amazing that the Magic can cater to the tastes of so many at the same time. I look forward to cruising the seas again on the Disney Magic. (As an aside, Sessions is the best kept secret on the ship, with great entertainment and libations, it was where we started our evening every night of the cruise - truly exceptional).

Fun for All! by Noel1

The Magic is a beautiful ship. It is very classic and Disney keeps everything "ship- shape". The ship is very clean and they are always working (sometimes this can be bad thing - noise).

Fantastic Disney cruise by SherriS2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our second Disney cruise, but first 7 day Disney cruise and first time aboard the Magic. We had previously experienced the Disney Wonder on the Land & Sea vacation package. Disney surely knows how to make a vacation special! The ships are beautifully appointed, service is exceptional and activities plentiful for all to enjoy. There are not words nor space enough to describe the absolutely fantastic time that was had by all in our group (18 total - 9 kids ages 11-17 and 10 adults ages 40-78) Just be assured that we will be traveling again on the Magic, hoping to join in upcoming 'destination' cruises they are now promoting.

Definitely a MAGICAL cruise! by MariaE5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our second time sailing onboard the Disney Magic. Our first time - the seven day itinerary was not available - the ships had just recently started sailing. There was a six year difference in between. My kids (now 8 and 9) absolutely loved the cruise! There were constantly activities for them and not once did they say "Mom, I'm bored." It was all so organized - it allowed them to enjoy activities that were just right for them. Best of all, it allowed my husband and I to have some "R&R" of our own. The cabins on the Magic are spacious enough for the entire family. The food was stupendous and the service was impeccable.

An incredible vacation! by ErinB2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Disney Magic was a wonderful ship. Disney really knows how to make a vacation magical. The ship was larger than I expected and the cabins were a great size. We had a family of 4 and were very comfortable. The bed was so comfortable that we could have slept the day away. The ship was very clean and the staff was always cleaning and maintaining the ship. We were given antibacterial wipes everytime we entered a resturant or restroom to help maintain cleaniness. The kids loved the pool and spent lots of time enjoying it. There was entertainment on the stage in front of the pool all afternoon. There was also a large screen TV at the pool which showed Disney movies throughout the day. What a great addition to an already great pool area. We also enjoyed spending private time at the adult pool. The kids were consistently entertained and especially loved the kids clubs. My 10 year old didn't even want to have dinner with us several nights because he was having so much fun with club activities.

Great Cruise by PeterK3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My family and I had a great time on the 7 day western carribean Disney Magic cruise. I had been on a Carnival cruise years ago and Disney put them to shame. For a boat with 875 state rooms there was an army of about 1000 staff making sure everything was taken care of. Ship was immaculate and constantly being cleaned. Rooms were attended to 2X/day and dining staff were courteous and helpful without hovering over you. Food was very good. Castaway Cay was the best stop in terms of ports and had a great beach and area for snorkeling. The only down side to the cruise was in terms of incidental charges: I would expect to pay for drinks or photos from a profesional photographer. Did not, however, expect additional charge for upscale restaurant ($10/person) or expect to have to rent a raft, windsurfer or snorkel equipment at Castaway Cay. These do not add up to an enormous amount but are a turn off.

The Magic lived up to it's name. It truly was a magical cruise. We traveled with our daughter and son-in-law along with the two granddaughters(ages 2 and 7) and it was a cruise of a life time.

Disney Caribbean Cruise by RuthieMHoward

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Magic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The food and adult entertainment was fabulous. However, my grandchildren 9 & 5 had a very poor time in the Children's Centers. Frankly, there wasn't much for the children to do. Neither child was enticed to go. This was a major disappointment and surprise. We had always heard that this was a cruise that children would love. Not so on this cruise.

Ok by Melero

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

The cruise itself was great, as was the staff. There is room for improvement, like the mattress and pillows were uncomfortable making us not have a good nights sleep. If some of these things could be fixed the cruise would be perfect.

Disney cruise was not that Magical by sarz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Disney is in control of everything you do, I always tell people that on a cruise you can do as much as you want when you want, but on a Disney cruise the decide when you eat and when you see a show. You felt more like a prisoner than a guest
