Review summary

This was our second Disney cruise, but first 7 day Disney cruise and first time aboard the Magic. We had previously experienced the Disney Wonder on the Land & Sea vacation package. Disney surely knows how to make a vacation special! The ships are beautifully appointed, service is exceptional and activities plentiful for all to enjoy. There are not words nor space enough to describe the absolutely fantastic time that was had by all in our group (18 total - 9 kids ages 11-17 and 10 adults ages 40-78) Just be assured that we will be traveling again on the Magic, hoping to join in upcoming 'destination' cruises they are now promoting.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
There was never a lack for food from the quality of the nightly dining experience to the 'quick stop' places around the ship food quality was excellent for us. We were able to try new dishes and found many to our liking. When we tried something we did not care for our dining staff offered to get replacement items. Dining staff was knowledgeable and helpful at every turn. Nightly descriptions and suggestions were helpful in making selections. You cannot beat Disney's rotation dining plan, allowing you to experience all three family dining rooms. Each dining room is a different theme from the formal setting of Lumiere's to the island setting of Parrot Cay with many things to offer. The animation and ambiance of each was exceptional.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
You cannot beat the nightly entertainment and quality of the performers. Shows were full of pagentry and captured the audience from the opening curtain. My only complaint was that the amplification of the music on a couple of occassions in the Walt Disney Theater was too loud, drowning out the singing of the performers. My mother was traveling with us and she wears hearing aids. Without them she cannot hear, but on these nights even with turning her aids completely off she was able to hear the music.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
From the captain to the maintenance crew smiles and friendliness abounded. Each staff member I ever encountered acknowledged me as a passanger asking how I was doing on that particular day and seeking out if I was in need of anything. If engaged by me, staff members always took a few moments to chat about themselves, where they had come from and what brought them to the Magic and then would politely excuse themselves to carry on their immediate business.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Though we sailed with 2100 others plus staff of 900, it never seemed crowded or cramped. The details that have been covered in the design of the ship and programs is superb.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
We purposely selected inside staterooms as not much time is spent in the rooms aside from sleeping. For a family of 4 they are tight but manageable. I would have liked to have more space to unpack as we seemed to live out of our suitcases and duffle bags more than not. Our room was finely appointed and homey. When we first arrived on board our room was ready and waiting with welcoming materials and looked like it was just designed.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
The most beautiful place I have experienced to date in my life. Of course it helped that our weather was fantasitc, but this stop was a hi-light for all. The bluest water I have every swam in for snorkeling and our snorkeling guides were fantastic in helping all ages and experience levels.
Don't Miss: Snorkeling the coral reef

Key West, Florida

3 out of 5
Much like any U.S. beach town. Some of our party golfed, some toured on the trolley and some did a walking tour taking in the hustle and bustle on foot. The 90 minute trolley was informative and convenient as you could get off and on at your leisure, taking in sights that peaked your interest.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
Though this area is still rebuilding from hurricane Wilma of 2005 our experience was good. We snorkeled here again and were shown some of the underwater remains from the hurricane devistation, which were enlightening to see.
Don't Miss: Carlos & Charlie's for a real treat!

Castaway Cay (Disney Private Island)

5 out of 5
The most pristine soothing place on earth! Spent the day lounging, reading, snorkeling and floating in the bay. Disney staff makes this a wonderful stop!

Pros: Relaxing atmosphere

Cons: Leaving our vacation
