Review summary

Just got back from a 7 day western carribean Disney cruise. Very nice, very clean, well laid out ship with lots for kids to do. We wish there was a bit more for adults to do and the shore excursions were somewhat constrained. The adults only parts of the boat are a great idea but not very well monitored. Most of the parents brought their kids with them. The ports (Key West, Grant Cayman and Cozumel) were fine but shore time was short. No mid-night buffet, not that anyone needs one on these cruises, but they had a lovely dessert buffet the next to the last night. Rotating restaurants (3) but keep same wait staff was unique and pleasant. Unfortunately, all 3 restaurants were quite loud and not necessarily because of the kids. Cruise marketed for families and couples - great for families, OK for couples.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All 3 restaurants noisey

Entertainment

3 out of 5
had a great daily calendar, unfortunately, a lot of very popular things conflicted or weren't on the schedule.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
we didn't have kids with us, but in speaking with other cruisers - THE BEST

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
very attentive

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Smoking not in designated areas tended to detract for non-smokers

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Excellent size, space available and "port hole" was about 4 feet in diameter - very nice option if not interested in paying a lot of extra money for veranda.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

3 out of 5
Had about 7 hrs, excursions were expensive and away from town
Don't Miss: Boatswain's Turtle Farm - unfortunately not on the excursions and about 10 miles away

Castaway Cay (Disney Private Island)

3 out of 5
Nice island but heavily marketed for Disney captured shopping. Snorkeling is in created lagoon. Beaches are fine. Would have rather spent additional time at other port.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
also had about 7 hrs, excursions expensive and away from town, would have loved to go diving, but not enough time to dive and shop or eat.

Key West, Florida

3 out of 5
we actually stopped here on business - would have liked more time. had about 5 hrs.
Don't Miss: the Conch Train Tour

Pros: Watching the kids

Cons: Lack of control over smokers
