An Extraordinary Taste of Heaven by iiistanleyiii

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Equinox

I would say that I am so happy that I was blessed to be able to journey with celebrity cruise line and be on the celebrity equinox. Everything was almost like a dream. Relaxing and rejuvenating. The best part was the wonderful people and new friends I met starting at the airport, at my hotel, all of whom were wonderful travel companions on the ship ⚓🚢.

Fantastic cruise with friends on the Equinox by Johnstradamus

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Equinox

Overall this was truly an amazing cruise. We traveled as a group of 5 couples and had an amazing time everywhere we went. A person actually stopped my wife and asked if she was part of that group having so much fun. This was my first cruise with Celebrity and I am converted. The ship is sophisticated and refined with a crew that bends over backwards to make you feel special. The food quality in the MDR was a step above the big 3 and it was a game changer for us. I can’t wait to book another.

a quality journey by Kansas251

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my fifth Cruise on Equinox. What makes the ship so special to me is the staff. I was with a large group, and family. I have just traveled on equinox several months ago. My family was amazed at the number of people who remembered me from the last trip and came and said hello.

Great cruise, by mocdietcoke4009

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

First time on Celebrity and really enjoyed and appreciated the staff and service! Definitely enjoyed Aqua Class upgrade, glad we tried it. Royal is the cruise line I have been on most, but service was hands down better on Celebrity.

Gleaming Celebrity Ship: Super Service, Great Food and a Wonderful Itinerary by AtlantaCruisers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our second Celebrity cruise (both on Equinox) and our 6th cruise overall. We are a 60ish couple and we travelled with our children and our two toddler grandchildren; there were a wide range of needs / interest to satisfy.  We really liked the quiet "adultness" of our December '15 voyage.

There were many highlights to commend / recommend on this 10 night voyage: we had the dine-at-will package (buffet) and were again pleased with the variety and quality; the ship is ultra clean and has a modern design; crew is always at the ready to assist with any need (especially appreciated since we had babies to tend to). We ate at four of the upcharge specialty restaurants and found it a bargain as well as a good way to break up our dining experience.

The port stops of St Thomas, St Kitts, Barbados, St Maarten and Dominica provided a diverse offering of off-ship exploration opportunities. Each island had its own unique flavor and we felt welcome anywhere we went. Dominica, with its raw forested beauty and tall peaks was especially beautiful, even as roads and attractions were being rebuilt after the August hurricane.

We have sailed with Princess and Royal Caribbean before but find that Celebrity gets the highest marks for the things that matter most to us: quality food, service and ship size. Even with 3,000 other cruisers on the Equinox, we never felt crowded or waited on line for anything. Our prior experience would have been enough to sail with Celebrity again, but their offering their famous "1, 2, 3" package (choice of alcohol, gratuities or shipboard credit) locked us in.

A Detailed Review of Our Cruise To The Lesser Antilles by bskramer48

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

To set the background for my review, this was our 2nd cruise on Celebrity and our 23rd cruise overall.  We previously cruised on the Celebrity Mercury many years ago to Alaska.  We booked this cruise to travel with friends and see 6 islands we have never visited before.  Our cruise took place over Christmas and the New Year holiday.  We did not have any issues with COVID, and we felt that this was the first cruise that we gave little thought to the virus.  Overall, we enjoyed this cruise and are planning to take future cruises on Celebrity.  Like every cruise we have been on, we found that there was a lot of good and a few things that we wished were different.  I am writing a detailed description of our experience to help future travelers.

The cruise was very laid back. There were only a handful of kids on the ship. Everyone was relaxed and chill. The staff was friendly throughout the ship.

"Ship Refurbishment" is an marketing gimmick. Do NOT expect anything to be materially different. by duffell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Caribbean - Western

not worth the money paid for a suite level accommodation. ship refurbishments may have been made (or it may just be a marketing gimmick), but they were nothing a paying customer would much care about. We'd have noticed a big improvement or change since we were on the ship last year. Do NOT waste $$ ($55/pp) on the newest restaurant Le Petit Chef™ At Qsine unless you like the idea of watching a movie shown on a dinning room plate and a fixed menu - everyone gets the same thing.

Good Cruise but got a little sick. by APutman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a good cruise and met a lot of friends. Only problems that we encountered were we both picked up a virus while on ship and after being sick three days on ship we're still trying to get over it after a week at home. Overall the Equinox is a good ship although way to many people for my comfort. The ship is not fancy with golden or glass staircases as some others we have been on. We did not care for the Dinning menus as they were really few choices and combinations that were not appealing to us. The one thing we did not like was the constant selling of Specialty Dinning.

This was our second cruise, we traveled with an other couple. Was a trek to get to Miami due air cancellation (so we drove from NH) but it was all worth it and the 7 days on equinox was a great vacation

Very Nice! by jomofl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I very much enjoyed my cruise with Celebrity and would cruise again with them. The service was the best part. The ship was very clean and well kept. Good mix of ages onboard. Not as much for kids to do as on other ships but that meant fewer kids which was fine by me.

Worst food in my life by aavenue

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox

Just came back from this "award winning" cruise, what a nightmare it was. The worst cruise food in my life, no selection neither in buffet nor in the dining room. One stained page with almost the same options for a dinner 10 days in a row. Mostly spicy Indian cuisine in the buffet. Pastry - stale doughnuts, loaf cakes and cupcakes. The most depressive employees I have ever seen - no smiles, no small talks. Avoid it, go to Princess if you want a decent cruise experience.

30th anniversary cruise by boggspeeps

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall a great cruise, I have nothing bad to say about anything we seen or done. You will have the reviews from those you can never please that will be bad but the overall experience was very enjoyable for us. These workers on the ship are human so give them a break if they don’t live up to your expectations. Most are a very long way from their home and family. They work long hours to pamper us and I think they do a GREAT job. Thank you to celebrity cruises and the staff of the equinox for a great 30th anniversary. We will use you again.

SWEET by AustinKearney

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Celebrity Equinox June 30 – July 7, 2018 Miami, Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Costa Maya Cabin 8260 Introduction This was our 24th cruise and 4th time sailing Celebrity and second time on the Equinox. It’s a great ship in all respects. Murano Restaurant We had booked a dinner for Saturday prior to our sailing. The charge for the Murano specialty restaurant was reduced to $35 per person from the customary $50. I have to say it was one of the finest meals of my life, let alone on a cruise ship. I asked our waiter if he recommended any particular dish and he replied that he’s been working there six years and the menu has never changed. Diners love everything. You can view the menu on the Celebrity Equinox’s web site. Toppers (Sunday night show by the ship’s singers and dancers.) Welcome to Bizarro World. This is my first review, ever of a musical production anywhere. It’s a production that commands comment. Center stage is an enormous top hat with a clock face facing the audience. The show’s star wears a neck-to-ankles Gestapo-style leather coat topped with a Willy Wonka-styled purple top hat with a purple plume. Let my nightmares begin. We don’t know his name or the names of his two partners. One is a guy who looks like he escaped the show “Cats.” A fellow passenger called him “monkey boy.” The other is a woman, who I’ll call “Bo Peep” who wears a poodle-type dress and caries a parasol. I have no idea why they are in the show, it’s just strange. Here’s the show’s theme. Nazi Wonka, who sounds like Mr. Rogers, has to imprison all the ship’s singers and dancers in his huge stage prop hat and only releases them to sing, dance and entertain him, with presumably top 40 hits. He then locks them back up in his hat so his “friends” can’t escape. This is the whole show. I leaned over to my wife, Joanne, and said the entire show is a celebration in support of slavery, with the slaves forced to wear uber-gay outfits. I observed audience members deleting songs from their smart phones after the cast sang a top 40 number. Just sayin’. Over cocktails, a few nights later, I was comparing notes about the show with a new drinking buddy. He said, “what did you think of the singing tree?” I said, “what singing tree?” He said, “you know, the girl who was totally covered up.” I said, “do you mean the “Cousin Itt” Adams Family character wearing the crumpled crepe paper flowers?” He pointed at me, smacked his thigh and said, “YES, Cousin Itt.” Trust me, Cousin Itt was not the weirdest element of the show. I’m sure the troup were talented in every respect, but they need material that was not retrieved from some theater workshop trash bin. Fourth of July The main atrium was decorated in red, white and blue balloons and other patriotic touches. In the evening, six of the ships pastry chefs assembled a six by eight foot American flag made from thousands of red, white and blue iced cupcakes. An icer added the white frosting to the field of blue cupcakes for stars. No fireworks but still very cool. See the photos with the review. Camo Guy Getting Picture Taken So, we’re in the Martini Bar (ahem) on photo night, and this couple, across the atrium, is posing in front of a backdrop. His shirt is identical in pattern to the backdrop and he looks like a head with detached arms. Check out the photos included. I just love it. Costa Maya This was our first time in the port. We parked with the MSC Armonia and the Norwegian Getaway. It looked like about a four mile hike along the pier (in reality just a half mile) from the ship to the shops ashore. My knees took one look at the hike ashore and said NOPE. Lots of tours were available to see the Mayan ruins. Fellow cruisers rode a bus through the Mexican jungles for three hours, had two hours to view the ruins and three hours back to port. They used every bit of a $7 can of bug repellant and were still eaten alive by mosquitos. I’m just sayin’, hello Martini Bar. World Cup Soccer Our cruise director, Maarten Bruels, who is Belgian, took every opportunity to let everyone know who the Belgian team beat. The former Cellars Bar on deck four is now the Gastrobar and a de facto sports bar where the World Cup ruled the week on the TV screens. When Mexico played Brazil, I think they needed armed guards to keep an eye on proceedings. Pretty intense, all week long. The Non-Ship Based Entertainment Heard over dinner Tuesday night: Me: So do you want to go see the ship’s singers and dancers in “Elysium” tonight? Joanne: I don’t think you would like it. Me: It can’t be any worse than “Toppers.” (We didn’t go.) Dan Wilson . . . very good comedian. Tatiana Marie . . . a wonderful singer who does great impersonations. Rondell Sheridan . . . another very funny comedian. Uptown . . . THE BEST. Motown to Uptown Funk. Don’t miss them! Summary We just love Celebrity. See you there.
