Review summary

Overall this was truly an amazing cruise. We traveled as a group of 5 couples and had an amazing time everywhere we went. A person actually stopped my wife and asked if she was part of that group having so much fun. This was my first cruise with Celebrity and I am converted. The ship is sophisticated and refined with a crew that bends over backwards to make you feel special. The food quality in the MDR was a step above the big 3 and it was a game changer for us. I can’t wait to book another.

Embarkation

Overall embarkation was relatively painless. We were on the ship with a drink in our hands about 30 minutes after arriving at the port.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The MDR was exceptional, only outmatches by the service we received there. I’m not much of a buffet goer, but we did order room service for breakfast several mornings and it was fantastic.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
This was our first time cruising with Celebrity. We are used to faster paced and more frequent activities from the big 3 lines. However we still had a great time. We did enjoy watching the officers pool volleyball game quite a bit.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We thought the live music was great in all the bars and common areas and thoroughly enjoyed them. We felt the performers in the stage shows were excellent however the content generally didn’t interest us. Lastly, the silent disco is an absolute must. I thought it was an interesting concept and then we tried it and had a great time.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was top notch throughout. Sure there were times there were lines and it took a bartender a few minutes to get to you, but to expect otherwise is unrealistic. We had a couple of our “go to” bartenders in the martini bar that always took care of us, and our service team in the MDR was the best I’ve experienced in 11 cruises.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was clean and spacious. It is the nicest cabin we hav had in 11 cruises which included 1 suite on a small carnival ship.

Ship tip

Consider doing a martini flight in the martini bar because the presentation is a show all unto itself.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Always love Cozumel - been here many times. We went to Mr Sanchos and had an amazing day. Great service, great food, great drinks, and great beach. All for $55 pp.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
This was my 3rd time in Grand Cayman and once again we enjoyed the stingrays. This time there were plentiful and quite large. We also bundled that with a dolphin excursion and it was extremely well run and very memorable.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5
Have been to this port multiple times. Took a chance on a beach club day and it was a mixed bag. Facilities were a little lacking but service was great.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Being concierge class allowed us a separate waiting area with drinks and snacks which was nice for a change. Our group was called when expected and we were greeted by Captain Kate at the gangway where she shook every passenger’s hand during the process. Unbelievable. My only complaint is that the facial recognition software was down in ft Lauderdale which slowed the customs process - they only had 3?agents to clear 3000 passengers.
