DEAN CRUISE by dean888

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our first cruise and we had a great time. All of the staff were great. Our table crew of Desa, Tusantha and Sedana were " The Best Ever". They remembered our names and what we had to eat and drink. We had a great time each night at dinner. All the activities were fun also. We enjoyed Song Trivia a lot.

I do have a concern about your Carnival Hub App. I loved that we could see all the activities for each day and see maps of the ship. However, the Chat option was not very good. The last night it took 50 minutes for my son to get his message. I also liked that we could see our balance on our account but it was not current with the credits. Overall I am glad I signed in though and will do it again if we cruise.

The only other concern I had was the disembarkation waiting  process. Clearly everyone did not follow directions as to how to be seated in the Taj Mahal. I know you all were busy getting the ship set up for your next cruise, but it would have been nice to have a couple of people to direct them where to sit per their deck. Everyone wanted to sit in an aisle seat so all the center seats were open and hard to get into.. Just a little confusing for a while.  When they called our deck we were able to go through at a run. It was great.

I hope we can do another one in the future!

OK by dneishell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I thought the cruise was pretty good overall.  I was traveling with my mother so I couldn't get to enjoy some of the things I normally would have.  We enjoyed the comedy shows very much.  All of the musicians were really good although the shows in the Red Frog lounge were extremely loud.  The food I thought could have been a little better. Everything was very bland,  Guy Fieri's burgers were really delicious.  Those were my mom's favorite.

Loved the comedian and the food . Boat was too rocky and did not go the half moon, which is where we wanted to go most.  Staff was mostly very good and boat was clean.

a little disappointed. by Cruiser487

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We have cruised often with Carnival , in comparison this was a disappointment.

Our first problem was that our embarking was very delayed. Our boarding time was 11 am,  we never got no until 12:30. which might not have been bad except that we were there with a 4 year old and we were packed in chairs very close to others.

As we boarded our cruise they informed us of  an itinerary change , that our visit to  Freeport had been cancelled. That was not too disappointing since that was the only port that we really did not care to go to.

We all got our sail and sign cards (there were 10 of us total) and noted that half our party was at different tables.  One of our party went to see if we could get a table together and we ended up at the choose your own tables, they did tell us to go to the same table every night at 5:45.  But failed to notify the

Canival Pride by rtwardowski

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

My favorite was the way Baltimore took your luggage from your car.  When we were boarding the lines were so long they gave us a time to board before the cruise 12 to 12:30 that didn' t mean a thing.  The way they do disembarkment was the worse.

GREAT FOR A OCTOBER CRUISE by CandeeCruises

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I love cruising in general, but cruising for my birthday is really great! I love all the perks, the activities, great service, great people. The downside...because of the weather we didn't get to dock in the ports of call we signed up for.

Carnival Pride out of Baltimore by billrob712

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Boarding was a disaster, and unless some improvement is met in that area, we probably would not go out of Baltimore again.  We were given the time of boarding at 1:30 - 2:30 and had to wait in line for one and half hours!  We felt like we were in line at Disney World.  The ship needs a good refurbishing but the staff was great.  The food was good but could have been better (have had better on other cruise lines). We had very rough seas and, therefore, our itinerary was changed but we understand that couldn't have been helped. All in all had a fairly good time.

Staff great - destinations disappointing by Tldreamin

The wait staff and our cabin stewardess were great. Disappointed that we did not go to two of the proposed island stops and Nausea was not a place I would like to return to.

Ports and excursions by glrmrqz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

was not too happy with Florida port Canaveral.  The excursions are too expensive for families. We thought we would be more time in Nassau Bahamas because the Freeport Bahamas was not available.

Other than that the ship service was great. The food was great. The waiters were super wonderful. The room attendends were great and the ship director was great.

Got seasick cause ship too rocky. Overall we had a good time considering the seasickness.

The cruise was Great but we missed out on places  we were supposed to go because of Bad Weather!  The service was Great but the places to go did not happen.  We were to stay in the Bahamas for 2 days,it did not happen.  While I understand the Bad Weather, I thought we were caught Short.

Wonderful Honeymoon!!! by aaj837

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This cruise was spectacular.  From Boarding the ship to debarktation we had a blast.  The cruise was so friendly, helpful and accommodating.  We loved the fun squad especially MJ (the Bingo Rainbow Flamingo), Jessica and Joe....and last but not least....our Cruise Director Leigh.   He always had a second to talk to you and his morning shows were a blast.  The food was fabulous...especially the Steakhouse and we highly recommend the Chef's Table for anyone looking for a truly wonderful dining experience.

Carnival Pride 10/16/16 by sellazzogn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

In general we had a lovely vacation. All of the waitstaff were very professional, friendly and extremely accommodating. Alchemy martini bar was fantastic. Gabriel, Szora and Katie made our trip so much better with their humor. They have a true knack for making a great Martini!!

The only downside was the head Maitre'd who was not professional, not accommodating, and very arrogant.

The ride was smooth, the accommodations excellent, so was the food. The people we met (workers and patrons)were friendly and helpful.  There were many activities to participate in and we took advantage of shows, comedy acts, massages...The whole thing was stress free and relaxing.

Relaxing Cruise from Baltimore by abcmoritz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Loved that instead of flying to Florida, San Juan, or New Orleans to catch the ship, we simply drove to the port of Baltimore, parked, and walked on board!  So simple.

The Pride is a small (88k ton) ship, so we weren't sure that we would like it since we've mostly sailed on 100k+ ton ships recently.  But overall we really enjoyed the smaller footprint.  We liked being able to walk around the ship, inside and outside, in direct lines without having to up/down/around.  We selected a table for two each night during anytime dining and had very enjoyable, intimate dinners.  The room steward, waiters, and in fact all service personnel were excellent and friendly.  We loved the all comedy shows, and most of the theater productions (1 excellent, 2 very good, 1 fair).

The Pride is an older ship but has been well maintained on the inside.  The only detractions we noticed was that the outside hot tubs lacked paint and few outside rust spots.  The interior is clean with carpets, dining rooms, and cabin all in excellent shape.  The Romanesque theme throughout the ship is not to our taste - too dark and overdone - but that is a matter of personal taste.  After the first day we really didn't notice.

We took this cruise to enjoy the shows, clubs, food, and hot tubs.  We weren't disappointed.  We didn't care about the itinerary and only got off the ship to walk to a local beach one afternoon in Nassau.  So for us, the cruise really delivered on what we were looking for.

Pretty good however sad that I cannot recommend you to friends and family by mkhostet

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Great experience on the boat.

You may improve the cruise by avoiding Nassau.  The desperation of the islanders was overwhelming and exploitive.  I had to leave the market within 30 minutes even though I had every intention to spend money in the market.  Also my husband and I were approached for drugs, inquiring if we wanted to buy.  We were not checked thoroughly getting back on the ship nor bags checked again in Baltimore.  We could have easily hid drugs and brought them back to the US.

I think I will tell all my friends to avoid this cruise due to the soliciting of drugs and market goods from the poorest of the poor in Nassau.  Someone is exploiting the poor to make the money to build, run and house the market and drug business.  This broke my heart and in every way I believe is unethical.  While I was there I also learned that a recent Jamaican woman was tried and convicted for human sex trafficking and due to a technicality in a different court Nassau court, she was let go.  This only happens if the wealthy and powerful in Nassau are corrupt.  In good conscious I will not recommend this cruise nor port and will warn friends and family against supportive businesses that frequent or support corruption.  Very sad.

Fist Time Cruisers by JerseyCouple

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I can't seem to think of a particular "favorite part" of the cruise because we enjoyed every part of it.  From embarkation to debarkation, everything was smooth sailing.  Everyone was so nice and the ship is so clean.  Someone is cleaning each part of the ship everywhere we go.  We love the shows and our favorite place to hang out was Red Frog pub.  Our bartender, Ari, was the best.  Our waiter, Ernesto, from the Normandie and our Room Steward, Anak, made our trip such a pleasure as well.  They give free popcorn on movie nights on Lido Deck.  We weren't able to see all the comedy shows because it gets packed right away but the one we saw, Jason Blanchard, was so funny we watched all his remaining shows. Hurricane Matthew affected one port that we were supposed to visit (Freeport) so we were only able to go to Nassau and Orlando.  It would have been more awesome if we had more time in Nassau.  Overall, we could not wait to book our next cruise with Carnival.  We are extremely happy and satisfied.
