Review summary

We have cruised often with Carnival , in comparison this was a disappointment.

Our first problem was that our embarking was very delayed. Our boarding time was 11 am,  we never got no until 12:30. which might not have been bad except that we were there with a 4 year old and we were packed in chairs very close to others.

As we boarded our cruise they informed us of  an itinerary change , that our visit to  Freeport had been cancelled. That was not too disappointing since that was the only port that we really did not care to go to.

We all got our sail and sign cards (there were 10 of us total) and noted that half our party was at different tables.  One of our party went to see if we could get a table together and we ended up at the choose your own tables, they did tell us to go to the same table every night at 5:45.  But failed to notify the

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
normally I am a steak lover, but all the steak on the cruise tasted funny. My husband who is not the least bit picky of an eater did not really enjoy many of the dinners.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5

Entertainment

1 out of 5
The entertainment was lacking as well . there was on entertainer that was actually lively and active , the rest of them seemed to be bored to death.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
the two kids that went to the programs loved them and the staff there was very good to them. Now this is what we are used to.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
The staff was very slow in getting us drinks from the bar, the bar wait staff did not understand most of the stuff we ask him, he had to ask our regular waiter what we were saying. The wait staff was just not up to the standard that we are used to.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship design was very beautiful, but cleanliness and state of repair lacked. Normally on a Carnival cruise you will frequently see staff cleaning different areas of the ship throughout the cruise, but not so on this ship. There were areas that had water spots, dust and general untidy housekeeping. Except for the public bathrooms , those were always cleaned and I frequently ran into the cleaners when I used them. .

Cabin / Stateroom

I loved having a balcony room for the very first time. I enjoyed being able to sit out side and enjoy the ocean by myself. The décor was nice .Upon going to our room our steward ask us when we wanted our room cleaned, this is the first time I was ever ask when I wanted my room cleaned. It really threw me. We also had to ask them put our bed together twice, we ended up just pushing them together ourselves. I had to ask twice for extra towels as there were 3 of us in the room. The top of the refrigerator had so much dust that my son in law said that it was no longer dust bunnies but full grown rabbits. There was dust around the television. The vanity was not dusted there was dust under the phone and the water tray. Also everything in our room seemed to rattle. When trying to sleep there would be so much rattling it would wake us up. We ended up folding papers and sticking them in the ceiling and around the mirror to stop the rattling. This was the first time we had a balcony room our window out on the balcony was so covered in salt water that you could not see out of it. I thought that maybe it ended up that way all the time, but they did wash them when we were in Grand Turk and they were still clean when we returned to Baltimore. I am guessing they had not been cleaned in at least two trips

Ship tip

Not the ship for our group.

Ports of call

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

this was the main reason we booked this cruise and we did not get to go there.

Your boarding pass has check in time not boarding time. They usually don't start boarding priority until 11:30 ish.
