Review summary

Great experience on the boat.

You may improve the cruise by avoiding Nassau.  The desperation of the islanders was overwhelming and exploitive.  I had to leave the market within 30 minutes even though I had every intention to spend money in the market.  Also my husband and I were approached for drugs, inquiring if we wanted to buy.  We were not checked thoroughly getting back on the ship nor bags checked again in Baltimore.  We could have easily hid drugs and brought them back to the US.

I think I will tell all my friends to avoid this cruise due to the soliciting of drugs and market goods from the poorest of the poor in Nassau.  Someone is exploiting the poor to make the money to build, run and house the market and drug business.  This broke my heart and in every way I believe is unethical.  While I was there I also learned that a recent Jamaican woman was tried and convicted for human sex trafficking and due to a technicality in a different court Nassau court, she was let go.  This only happens if the wealthy and powerful in Nassau are corrupt.  In good conscious I will not recommend this cruise nor port and will warn friends and family against supportive businesses that frequent or support corruption.  Very sad.

Evening dance group was great until during the last evening their sexual costumes and dance moves ruined it. There are children in the audience for those shows. They can do better.

How is this fair to rate the Pride 1 star when you didn't even mention one thing about the actual ship?! Rambling on about drugs, sex and poor people in Nassau has nothing to do with the ship. The Pride does do different itineraries that do not visit Nassau.

We never had or seen this problem in Nassau. The people there were friendly.....we even made a friend with the cab driver....we reached out to him during hurricane Matthew to make sure him & his family was alright

Hey mkhostet, do you work with or without a net while trying to get off your high horse. You're right, it is very sad..........sad that you are so narrow minded. If you're not happy with a situation, don't walk away from it, try to do something about it. These people do rely on the cruise industry for their livelihood. So you walking away does contribute to the problem. Sorry about the rant, folks. People like this really p!ss me off.

Every thing you mentioned, drugs, sex trafficking, people who are poor trying to make money, happens in the US everyday, all day long. Did you not see the dogs sniffing bags for drugs when you get back. They are there. I am sure I could get drugs in your neighborhhood. Don't go to Jamaica either, you can smoke one in public with little worry.

Um, people in the US get off on technicalities too. Also, they've caught people trying to smuggle drugs so they're doing something. Didn't you have to put your bags through a scanner?
