Could have been better by FernandoM

Although I have nothing to compare it to due to this being my first cruise I will say that the ship itself was very nice.

Disappointed... by CarrieW2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We really enjoyed the ship the Carnival Legend. The food was great and the service couldn't have been better. It was always sparkling clean with plenty of places to hang out, whether you wanted indoors or out. The Lido deck was always hopping with music and fun, but I wish they would put a few deck chairs on decks other than the Lido, like on Deck 3, where there was ample room for just sitting and relaxing rather than having to stand if you were on those decks.

A Great Cruise! by DaleR1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Excellent crew and cleanliness was impeccable. I had my wife in a wheel chair and the staff assisted us in boarding quickly. Much appreciated! Had a wonderful relaxing time. Only problem was hurricane " Paula" which upset our itinerary and missed three ports we were looking forward to seeing.

Decent time by AmandaG3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very little of the staff speak good enough english to help at all! Guest services was a joke. Every time I had a question they told me to come back later! Expect to pay at least an extra $1000 for minimal extra comforts while on the cruise. 160$ for a family of 4 soda cards! The food was sub par. Even the "Truffles" restaurant food was so so. The staterooms remind me of a mobile home from the 1970's. There was actually duct tape holding a molding on our wall. Having a balcony is a must, or clothing will not dry and your room will smell like a dirty sneaker. Due to weather we only went to the Cayman and they sent us to Ocho Rios. No Mexico, Belieze or Isla Rotan. In turn they dropped us off at port in Jamacia with awful man made beaches and locals grabbing my children trying to braid their hair for cash when we were trying to get in a cab. The slots in the casino are as tight as a fishe's rear! Want to have a couple of drinks... on average $8-$9 each! Most of the fun parties at Camp Carnival are also extra fees! The ship was dated and slightly ran down. They did keep it clean. Our room was kept very clean. It was not over crowded. There were also many good points. I am not sure if I would try this cruise again. It may have just been that we only spent 2/7 days at shore! In turn they offered us 20% off our next cruise because we did not get to go to three of our destinations! (I think you get about 10% off anyway just for being a past cruiser, so not a great deal). The live Jazz shows were very nice. It could have been much worse. The kids really liked camp carnival, but if you want to go dancing with your spouse expect to pay, you will not be doing much dancing before 11:00 p.m. Most of the adult fun starts late.

Legend cutting corners! by ElizabethK1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Food was good but luxury tems cut WAAAAY back! Our neighbor (traveling companions) didn't have hot water for four days....told to "just let it run". they did as told and still no hot water. Room steward did minimal job (forgot to have room service menus), never introduced himself, etc.

Ship was a bit older yet elegant. Large enough to get lost but organized enough to find everything.

We had a good time by MrA12582309

The ship was very ornate and very different than any other ship we have been on. The cruise directors staff were not tastefully dressed for a cruise staff.

Won't happen again! by JasonP2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My wife and I have cruised Carnival before and other lines as well. This was by far the worst I have ever been on. We were constantly waiting for everything, especially food. I understand there are 2000+ people on board, that is all the more reason to open up the buffets a little before lunchtime and a little after, not just an hour or so. Having to stand in line for 15 minutes to only be told that it will take ten more for a slice of pizza is ridiculous. The excursion were fine, as always. The ship seems a little outdated and need of service. Missing and broken tiles, carpet looks terrible with stains everywhere, I was hit by two seperate doors that were unsecurred on deck, blowing around. Like I said earlier, this isn't my first cruise, I know what to expect. I was sorely disappointed. Even the attidue of the crewmembers were poor. The coffee was out in a machine so I asked a crewmember where another was I could use and he said " I don't know, there's 3 on this deck, go find another one". I heard more I don't knows on this trip than I have ever heard in my life!

The decor on the ship was elegant, the dining room food and service was excellent. The room steward provided good service and the room was always kept clean and provided with clean towels.. There was a great variety of on shore tours to choose from.

Everyone on the ship were very helpful and friendly. The boat it self was decorated beautifully and very clean. The buffets were not that great. (Same thing everyday).

A great cruise by SmirnaS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ship OK overall. Could have used another dining room Very colorful in most areas, very nice. Nice pool areas. I never saw the slide at the pool opened while there. Food was great in the main dining room. Steakhouse too pricey. Could have had more entertainment in the theatre by the ship dancers and singers. Very Clean. Waiter and busboy great. Room stewart was very good.

The cabin we stayed in was okay. It's spacer than other ships we've been on. The staff are excellen and friendly. The food and selections were not so great. Also, there were not a lot of things to do on the ship for adults. The entertainments was not good.

A relaxing Cruise on the Legend by Keith1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our second cruise on the Legend. It's condition, well let's say the ship was tired. It was kept very clean, but it was past it's "sail" by date (pun intended). It needed revitalising. If it had been my home i would have remodelled. It was still a very relaxing cruise. I took advantage of the days at sea to catch up on my sleep. Staff were courteous and friendly. The food was OK, although it was often sent back to be reheated. The waiters were very obliging and allowed me to order special meals (24 hours notice was required). The Golden Fleece restaurant was excellent. There was an additional charge per head for the food here. It was probably the same food, but individually prepared for you. it made all the difference. Finding a quiet bar in the evening was difficult. A bar that you could relax in a comfy chair and chat to each other and be heard without shouting. I enjoyed the evening variety shows. The ports were the same as we had visited before, although we were disappointed with Roatn. The ship had moved to a different port 4 miles away. We were looking forward to visiting a private resort. We caught a taxi to the old port, but since no ships were in port that day the resort was shut. We might have sail a different cruise company if we want to visit that port again. We travelled with friends. Another couple. I booked both the staterooms and requested early dining seated at a table for 4. this was confirmed on our travel reservation documents. What we got was each couple on separate tables on tables for 6 or 8. It was quickly sorted out, but so unnecessary.

Carnival Legenrd by CharlesH2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Carnival Legend was an awesome experiernce once again! This is my second cruise with Carnival and i have to say we had a blast. The staff were all very nice and willing to do what ever it took to make sure this would be the best cruise ever. Even when the camer man came over to take a dinner picture i asked if i can have a picture of him instead with my camera and offered him the picture for $5. He did not buy of course but had a great big smile and said of course and posed with my mother. Staff is what made the trip for sure, the excellent food, decorations and rooms put this cruise over the top. You can't go wrong with Carnival!

Room steward was great seams like every time you return to your cabin it had been cleaned. Food, Food, Food and more great Food. Lots of Fun by KathrynB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Carnival is like the other cruise lines. They are reducing services to save costs. However, we still had a great time. The captain's cocktail party has been reduced to a "reception". The past passenger party was scheduled from 7:30-8:15. We finished dinner at 8:00 and couldn't make it in time. The ship is well maintained. Staff very friendly. Overall, still a bargain compared to a resort.

too much smoke in casino ruined it all by GaryS3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

If you can put up with the smoking in the casino, then it should be fine.If you like to be in the casino, then you should find a non-smoking ship or one that doesn't allow smoking in the casino.Got bronchitus over it and coughing up my lungs right now because of it.

Fabulous cruise by DeborahJ3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

From the beginning of the cruise we were impressed with our lovely balcony room, the amenities offered, the helpfulness of the crew, the great shows, the enjoyable food always available on board, and especially the dining experience each night in the dining room. We found that all on board were happy to make our cruise exceptional and fun. It was so pleasant whether we were playing miniature golf, sitting by the pool(s), grabbing a bite to eat, etc and always having our needs taken care of. The shows were also great, many talented entertainers! Our cruise director was a real treat also.
