Be sure and take time to explore the whole ship! We discovered an beautiful, quiet lounge just outside the Music Hall on our last night. Would have been a nice spot to relax in had I found it earlier.

When your board the first couple hours avoid the crowds of folks at Windjammer by going to Cafe 270 at the back of the ship. They have yummy sandwiches and an awesome view. Also just enjoy the ship and the staff these were truly some of the most amazing people I have ever met.

Despite the fact that Anthem OTS carries a lot of passengers, there are lots of niches around the ship for peace and quiet... seek them out. Also, the "flying bridges" to the side of the Solarium are a great place to see the sights.

Do not go to the Windjammer on the first day and during peak hours if you do not like crowds. If you hate crowed elevators get a stateroom in the middle and use the stairs. Keep an eye on your account throughout the cruise. In our group of 8 we had a few charges that needed to be removed. They say Royal IQ is free, but if you want to use the chat function you need to pay 7.95 for the trip, wish they would mention it before.

Although the areas are cleaned , bring Lysol wipes to clean your cabin and door handles as a preventive, I had to go to the medical department and get an antibiotic , there are tons of people not covering their faces when coughing or sneezing.

Check out the whole ship when you first arrive and plan all events and restaurants ahead of time. This way you can enjoy the rest of your trip. Also get the app on your phone so you can follow daily activities and your schedule.

This is a very large ship with 4,000 guests - be prepared for crowds, but the ship crew was very good at moving people quickly during on and off boarding at ports. For the final off-boarding back at Cape Liberty though, be prepared for long, slow lines at customs

Great trip to New England and Canada. All ports were interesting to visit. Except New Brunswick. Save your money and time: don't book a tour to bay of Fundy. Very disappointing tour! And i was not the only one thinking that! Regarding the food on the ship: i bought the ultimate dinning package, so food was good (in my previous cruise on the same ship, i found the food in complimentary dinning not tasty at all...). I also got a punch card for speciality coffee (15 coffees). Most excellent. Overall a good cruise.

Do thorough research. There are many hidden charges and things that are not explained thoroughly. For example, when I ordered the digital photo package (10 photos). A coupon popped up for an additional 3 photos printed for $9.99. It did not specify that the photos would have to be from the digital selection. Why would I want to have a print out of what I have digitally already purchased. It was my idea to get those printed at a later date. It would have been nice to have the prints of three different photos from what I had already selected. Thumbs down on photo packages.

Print out and bring with you itemized list of what you prepaid. Read your account on TV each day. If you are traveling on Anthem of the Seas with out your children expect to be surrounded by other peoples children who may not be as well behaved or well-supervised as your own. I would look for a ship that is more for couples or adults.

Book all of your on board activities before or right as you embark on the boat! They fill up fast.

If you drink more than 2 sodas/pop per day, consider getting the soda package. Soda at the bar costs about $4.50 each. The soda package is $8.50 a day.

Book as many options in advance as possible, including shows, activities, dining (if you do MyTime). To avoid crowds on embarkation day, have lunch in the two70 bistro. Much more mellow start to your trip. Make use of the solarium, as children are not allowed there (except on bad weather days).

Have lots of patience at least the first day. The elevators even though have many were slow. Whether your going up or down get on you will get there quicker than standing and waiting.
