Review summary

I feel the Anthem Of The Seas was a very clean, friendly and satisfying ship to cruise on. It was easy to get to from Connecticut with out flying.

If you are using a debit card for payment, i would not recommend it (unless you have a lot of money on it. They will put a hold on your card for a certain amount and when you go over the amount it reeks havoc on your account due to the hold and available money.

The solarium is an awesome place to relax and get away from it all.

The main pool needed to be closed 3 times for cleaning (not happy about it, especially on the first nice day).

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Never a bad meal. Specialty Dining worth the extra money if you want to be spoiled.

Service and Staff

Our room Stewart Kenia Kandler was excellent. She was very friendly and tended to our needs in a timely fashion. Our Dining Room experience (not so good) We were supposed to have a waiter and her assistant but really never saw the assistant. This caused a great delay in our service. Our children sitting right next to us had a different wait staff (and they were awesome) and was eating their main meal before we even had our starters. This happened every time we ate in the Main Dinning Room. We ended up eating in Chops one night and the Italian Restaurant another with outstanding service. Not sure where this fits in but there was a lot of security present on the ship. Not sure if I like someone walking around in uniform. Maybe plain cloths would be better.

Ship Quality

Hand washing stations and hand sanitize dispensers everywhere. Out Standing!

Cabin / Stateroom

Very nice. Excellent service.

Ship tip

Avoid breakfast in the dining room if you are hungry. Food service is a lot slower there.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

King's Wharf, Bermuda

Get your ferry passes on the pier in the white tent. Would love to spend a few days there.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Snorkeling Excursion no where close to the one in St Thomas. If you did the Turtle Bay in St Thomas do not do the one in St Maarten (no comparison).

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Nice walk to town and historical forts. Never felt unsafe. Very neat town to visit.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

Zip line was pretty cool. Very hot and no breeze. If you walk through the market/ village do not make eye contact with them. They will hound you verbally. Thank good for the yellow line. Bring water shoes if you plan on swimming, very rocky.

The Solarium was the place to be. No kids allowed, you could drink in the pools and if you went under in the 2 feet of water there was a life guard to save you.

Anthem is a great family ship. We were on in January- loved the North Star, WWRY, the open spaces, Michael's Pub for happy hours, Music Hall always something to do.

Ok ty we have Pd for everything up front except for the rm gratuities so then we should be ok

So if somebody's handicap that uses an electric wheelchair they should not be able to be on the crew ship? It's a really big ship for somebody to be pushed around. I guess you don't have anybody in a wheelchair in your family

I am not being mean about the disabled. I just feel that the Larks or scouters can be dangerous on a ship that rock and rolls. Maybe a wheel chair that is being pushed by another person would be a better option. So please do not wish I end up in a wheel chair.

Brendied. We had a $400 hold on our boys account. Of course they spent an additional $50, which put them at $450. So when they went to run the final bill there was a hold on the account leaving not enough funds. We ended up transferring money to the account so it would go through. I would recommend  paying your gratuity, excursions and beverage package up front. This way the only charges you will have is your spending money.
