Q: I will be sailing Anthen of the Seas from December 5th to December 10th. The ship will arrive in Phuket on December 7th at 8am and leave on December 8th at 7pm. I found out the ship will be tendered on Patong Beach.. Does anyone know how late will we be able to return to the ship on the first night there? How late will the jet boats run? I would love to see the late night in Phuket but I am afraid to be unable to return to the ship.

A: GTY means you are guaranteed a cibin, but the location will be assigned closer to embarkation day, usually after RoyalUp upgrades have been awarded to passengers that participated in the bidding. Until then, your muster station (emergencymeeting piin... t) can not be assigned either as that is linked to your cabin numberSee More

Q: We are going on the trans-Atlantic cruise from April 28-May 10. Will the weather be more like New Jersey or Florida? Since we are heading south. Are the seas rough on the ocean?

A: I traveled across the Atlantic. The only part that was rough was leaving the Bermuda area, when we entered the Atlantic proper. That was one night, and the rest was like sailing in a bathtub. The English Channel can give you a bit of a toss. Rough se... as don't bother me, though. Hilarious, as I get horribly carsick.See More

A: I wish I knew the answer to that as well. I’ve been on cruises that were bumpy for days in a row and they were not all that pleasant. I’m hoping for a calm smooth passage all the way to England myself.

Q: Hi all, my wife, daughter and I purchased a guaranteed balcony rate for our upcoming Fjords cruise and we just got our cabin assigned. The category is 2F which is a studio balcony number 7652. This looks very small and don’t see where more than two people could sleep in there. It is listed as “4 twin-convert” on the bedding set up. I asked my travel agent and she also said it’s rated for four people but not sure where the other two could possibly sleep as anybody have any experience with us thank you in advance.

A: With out knowing the ship, it’s going to be a covetable couch or a bed that drops from the ceiling. Go to cruisedeckplans.com. The Free public site, go the cruise line then the ship and find your cabin. There will be a rendering of the cabin you... are in. Some even have photos of the room.See More

Q: Recent anthem cruisers. Are you still able to reserve free rides for North Star and ifly? If so when and where can you reserve your time.

A: I know last year you could just stand by form the North Star. I am really upset that these cost money now. It was all free prior to COVID. $50 for a 2 minute ifly is ridiculous in my opinion.
Answered by Irishxtine on January 28, 2024
A: You do it onboard on the app the night before you want to do it. The free rides are while the ship is in port.
Answered by kef2016 on January 26, 2024
A: They can be made on the app but the fill up really fast so make it one of the first things you do.
Answered by Header08 on January 30, 2024
A: Wow, I didn't know they charged now. 2018 we did it three times for free! New England cruise was mainly older pax and we had no trouble booking it. North Star just lifts you up over the ship a bit.
Answered by joyandjerry on January 28, 2024
A: North Star is free on port days... reservations can be made on the app

A: They still have 2 nights w/a better dress code during a week long cruise it is no longer a truly Formal Night. The dress code is only a requirement at the Main Dining area the other inside venues for entertainment have dropped it. Also Royal has down... graded the minimum level to business casual instead of even semi-formal.See More

A: 1st off Royal sails out of NJ. 2ndly if flying in or coming by train, plan to get in at least a day earlier, already having severe delays and cancelations due to icing. If driving have several hrs comfort room in case of inclement weather traffic del... ays. Your first and last 36 hrs on board will be as cold outside as the home port, but inside will be heated in some cases overly, wear easily removable layers.See More
Answered by maryred on November 21, 2023
A: Pack a warm pair of clothes or two NY can get a little cold. Also, pack extra snacks, soda etc. For the ports because food is expensive.
Answered by Matty123 on November 21, 2023
A: We did the same ship out of NJ last February. Figure 1 1/2 days on each end in cold weather if you go outside. To be honest we would never do it again. Felt like a loss of 3 days on a 7 night cruise. We will stick to Florida embarking in the winter m... onths even if it does cost us airfare.See More

Q: How far ahead can you book speciality dining and is lunch at Chops worth the extra cost?

A: You should look now with the Black Friday sales. I just booked lunch at Chops and Giovanni for my June cruises- lunch at chops was $12.99- can’t buy a 8 ounce Filet with appetizers and desert anywhere for that price. I ate at Chops for lunch on the... Anthem and it was delicious. I try to book the last day at sea for lunch as I noticed the menu in the MDR on the last night is usually not appealing to me.See More

A: No. Streaming and internet access are bundled. it was tiered before they switched to Starlink.
Answered by TravelinTess on October 30, 2023

A: Usually the buy one get one booking promo perks can only be used once on board. This means you must wait until you board on embarkation to make the reservation directly at a specialty dining area host desk.

Q: Hello, just wondering is Solerium Bistro on Anthem of the Seas also adult only like the sun deck area or can children eat in the Bistro? I know they could on Harmony of the Seas but there are a mix of reviews online for Anthem of the Seas in relation to this! Any help would be much appreciated👍

A: Even though the bistro is in the Solarium area, it is not an age restricted venue. However because people think it is, there are fewer young people as a result. TLDR; Kids are allowed in the solarium bistro.
Answered by Ricdalek on October 2, 2023
A: The last time we sailed the Anthem '22, fir breakfast and lunch the only entry to the Bistro was the doors within the Solorium making if more or less adults only. BUT at dinner time the entry used was the one in the passageway adjacent to the elevato... rs. On our previous voyages we did not see young children at dinner there but there were definitely tables with teens w/their parents/guardians.See More

Q: Signed up for 7:15 dining reservations at My Time dining. Is it really a reservation or do you still have to come and wait in line for a table? Are there still formal dress nights with My Time dining?
Thumbs Up

A: Also on US departures Royal no longer holds true Formal Nights, they've downgraded the minimum dress code to a better business casual. In other words a neat pair of khakis or dark jeans with a button down shirt is now good enough.
Answered by maryred on September 24, 2023
A: Even with MTD you still need to check-in with the host(ess) to confirm your arrival and table number, but the reserved line gets seated faster than the walk-up passengers do.
Answered by maryred on September 24, 2023
A: My Time has same formal nights as assigned dining. Blessed cruise!
