I enjoyed the ship. However, there were not enough activities for 18-20 age group. I also find Royal Carribbean has made many changes costing additional unnecessary expense to its passengers.

Review summary

Basically I enjoyed the cruise the length as well as the ports of call. Anthem of the Seas is a beautiful ship. There are plenty of spaces on deck to enjoy the sun. The food service was great, but the menu deserves a little more variety. The main show in the Two Seventy lounge was mediocre. However, the Tenors show made up for it.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was very smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Same menu over and over throughout the week in the Windjammer and evening dinning room (Silk), With very few options.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Not enough activities for ages 18-20. Too old for teen club 12-17 but yet not old enough for night activities in the club. Young adults traveling with us got a little bored.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The shows in club two seventy were mediocre. However, the Tenors show and adult karaoke were superb!

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Not enough activities for ages 18-20. However the teen activities were plentiful! I like how they had the Xbox, bumper cars, and other activities they could participate in.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
For the most part our service was good. Our cabin stewart was exceptional. However, in general I found that the staff was not as friendly and welcoming as in the past.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship's design was excellent.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was pretty good. Nice location in mid-ship. We enjoyed the balcony. Also a plus was to be able to open to the adjoining balcony occupied by family members.

Ship tip

Do thorough research. There are many hidden charges and things that are not explained thoroughly. For example, when I ordered the digital photo package (10 photos). A coupon popped up for an additional 3 photos printed for $9.99. It did not specify that the photos would have to be from the digital selection. Why would I want to have a print out of what I have digitally already purchased. It was my idea to get those printed at a later date. It would have been nice to have the prints of three different photos from what I had already selected. Thumbs down on photo packages.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

3 out of 5
Very congested to get into the port.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

4 out of 5
Bermuda was beautiful. Enjoyed the beach.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

4 out of 5
Third trip to St. Maarten. Nothing new to comment on.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
Not enough time in this port. Felt rushed.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
I loved Labadee and would return.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Disembarkation was simple.

Were you stuck in the same dining room the entire cruise? We're going in November and I don't want to be stuck in one dining room when I was told by RCCL that we would rotate between the 4 restaurants.

I wonder if the Tenors need a falsetto. I do pretty good in the shower (when nobody else is home). Bravo!!
