I would give it 5 stars and this was based on a lot of Negative Reviews from prior cruisers.
Over 4500+ passengers and 1,200+ Staff. For what we saw and we were out most of the time on the ship doing activities and just enjoying the scenes. Didn't see any issues.
Feel free to ask me anything about Anthem of the Seas.
Would cruise again on this ship ... but there are so many other Big Ships RCCL has coming out therefore need to go on those 1st before wrapping back to Anthem in the future.
Embarkation

Very Smooth and was so swift didn't notice until we were in the middle & breath-taking views of the New York and also across in New Jersey Water Fronts.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate in all the Specialty Restaurants and all was very good to excellent.
Service was top notch and the Staff made it a point you were being taken care of- even when the restaurants were busy.
Jamie's/ Chops Grille/Wonderland/IZUMI/and Coastal Kitchen (Suite Cabins only )were excellent.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Plenty to keep you busy if you are the Active Type. Make sure to book iFLY and North Star in Advance. On Shore Days you might be able to squeeze in a walk in appointment.
IFly seems to have issues every so often and caused cancellations for people whom had scheduled in to participate in the iFLY experience.
Entertainment

All 3 Shows were very good.
The Comedy Shows were LOL- All 3 comedians were funny to the bone.
Service and Staff

We stayed in Cabin 12642 ( Grand Suite ) during the 8/17 to 8/26 Bermuda Sailing.
Aside the weather being sunny every single day the Staff was even brighter. From our Suite Attendant Lomesh Foolchand ( who was beyond attentive and respected our space almost to a default & was there for anything we needed A+++ ) to Ricardo Monk ( Concierge Rep ) whom answered all our in house calls/ emails and made our trip that much more easier & went out of his way for us A++++ ) to the entire Staff whom we came across during our trip. ( Not sure why others had bad reviews ). Most of the RCCL Staff work 7 days a week and months at at time. Personally, its a testament because most of us can't keep up such a positive attitude working 7 days a week yet a lone on a cruise ship. Kudos!!!
Thank you Telma Santos for being so informative with the next cruise we do plan to go with RCCL .
We wished we remembered all the names.
Special thanks to the Staff whom served us in the Suite Lounge.
Ship Quality

Was very well kept and this is coming from a person who been told by family/ friends I am a neat freak.
Quite impressed with a full capacity ship they up kept it very well. constantly cleaning all the decks and even areas where there was high volume traffic.
Cabin / Stateroom

Overall it was nice
We didn't' stay in the cabin often as it was used more for just resting and of course Zzzz's.
Cabin was smaller than what we anticipated.
Bathroom was spacious with 2 sinks . Just be mindful if you are a sensitive sleeper as the 2 doors to the bathroom can slam hard when closing. We put a towel in the corner of the door to prevent constant bang noise when using the bathroom.
Plenty of Closet space and hangers.
Balcony was very spacious and can take in the ocean views or when ship is at dock if you choose to.
Ship tip
If you are on a 7 or 9 day cruise then go with the flow.
What i found most try to do is : Handful of cruisers do as much as they can on the 1st 2 days at Sea and they end up burning them selves out in the last 2 days of the trip from our conversations with others.
Its a vacation not a sprint to do as much as you can- then before you know it, you need another vacation on top of the prior vacation.
No Big tips here. I can only speak thru our experience and we had a very good time. Perhaps it was the time of the year we went. Near the end of August and we expected to see more kids but not as much as we thought since most colleges are in full swing and kids are about to go back to school ?
Probably the best private island we have been to.
Staff was excellent and we had our own area for suite guests so this might have made the experience that much pleasant.
We were with in the ships view and took some amazing photos with the ship as the back drop.
did you drink the tap water? how did it taste? just curious. we were on the carnival pride last year and the water had a funny taste. thanks in advance.
we've sailed with another company on smaller ships. I'm a little worried about this one being so large. Is it easy to navigate through and is it crowded with people?
Have been on Anthem twice and would go back again in a heartbeat. Don't listen to bad reviews. Some people just don't get it. Book all activities on line BEFORE you board. I was able to do all ours about six months in advance, so don't wait until 90 days before. Everything will be booked by then. Have a wonderful time!
We did Anthem in October 2015 in her maiden season. Beautiful ship. I have just posted some photos. Never crowded though full to capacity. It was a 15 day cruise by the second week you get on all that was to offer no queuing. I personally don't think you can do the ship justice with just 7/5 day cruises you need some good sea days x
