Review summary

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had on a cruise. I will never book another cruise with Royal Caribbean again. The entertainment was minimal, and other cruises had shows comparable to Broadway. The food was horrendous, and caused an upset stomach to my entire family. When this was brought to the guest services attention, they called it a virus and quarantined me to my room causing me to miss the port in St. Marten. Their attempt to compensate this was to offer me a one day credit towards another cruise, which is completely useless considering I will never waste $6000 on another miserable experience with Royal Caribbean. I will never recommend Royal Caribbean to any friends or relatives.

The ship was boring, there was not much to entertain yourself with and the floors were always wet. Someone slipped and fell and hurt their leg on the slippery floors.

Ship tip

I would never sail on Royal Caribbean again. I have sailed with Norwegian and Carnival, paid far less and enjoyed my time much more.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

Although the Island scenery was beautiful, everything was outrageously expensive. After spending 8 hours on the Island, not one Jet Ski was rented. Most of the activities were paid, and after spending so much money on the cruise, it is ridiculous to waste anymore.

The porter helping with bags off of the ship was a very nice lady, that was fast and efficient.

You have to be extra careful on mega ships. One thing I noticed on the Anthem was the public sinks always looked like they had dirt in them. It was as if the staff never cleaned them. Huge red flag!!!

Hi, I too got sick on a cruise. They wanted to quarantine me also. I told them I completely understand being quarantined. I assured them I had to much to drink, which I did. They checked on my well being from time to time and were very accommodating and nice about it. I know I or my room wasn't pleasant to be around. We gave room service a very hefty tip. They earned and deserved every penny. We've been on several cruises and enjoyed everyone. Like everything some are better then others. Happy Cruising

Again... Lack of preparation on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine. Lady, you were a public health risk. Get over yourself and quit acting so self righteously selfish. Thank you for never sailing RC again, you won't be missed. And just as an FYI, anthem does not have a shoe comperable to Broadway because it actually has a Broadway show onboard. 🙄🙄🙄

again someone who did no preparing, no research. Athem is a great ship but you have book everything 90 days out. if he went to ship mate Before, he would of found this out. spends 6k for the cruise and expected they would hold his hand and be escorted to all.

Very unlikely that the food caused the stomach upsets. It was probably caused by poor hygiene by passengers and the cruise line acted properly in trying to prevent the spread of the virus. We loved the choice of food on the Anthem and thought the variety and quality of the entertainment was excellent. Quite glad you will not be returning to Royal Caribbean as then there is no danger of me bumping into you on a future cruise and having to endure your complaining.
