The machines in the Casino don't pay very well, but I just looked at it as my twenty dollars gave me two hours of enjoyment--not the slots, the Poker machines. Those slots take your money too quickly! :) But then maybe that's how all Casinos are. I don't know.
Hot dogs getting back on the ship from destinations was key, find the handful of bars between the decks you visit and become a regular, park cafe was a good meal almost any time of the day, hit the promenade late night for snacks and commotion.
If you drove and parked your car, leave early during the disembarkations if you can handle your luggage. We were off of the ship and on the road in 30 minutes.
study a bit about what the ship has to offer and what you'd like to do ahead of time. You spend a lot of the first few days trying to find out where everything is.
If not satisfied with the food in dining go and eat at Windjammers they have a variety of foods and deserts. There are also restaurants that require you to pay but the prices are reasonable.
Dining is fantastic!
Don't feel pressured to purchase the drink refreshment options. You get the souvenier cup... but not really worth it unless you drink soda all day long, or drink all day long. There are bars everywhere and specialty drinks are available.
Have fun and just go for it!
Best breakfast is the Park Cafe. Stay on the ship for Nassau, it is all kitschy tourist stuff. The Kayak/hike/snorkel excursion we got through cruises.com was one of the high points. Get the details on the dress code ahead of time, we were embarrassed by the wait staff for being under dressed.
There were a lot of electronic things around to help you navigate the ship. Being able to look at your shipboard account on the TV made it easy to see and check on what you were spending.
There need to be signs throughout the ship about smoking as some passengers were smoking in the passage ways and elevators - this is bad and we believe a safety factor plus many of us are allergic to cigarette smoke. There could be a little more control of children running around everywhere!
