What happened to Royal Carribean? by slhagan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was one of the most disappointing Cruises.  We have been on 4 Royal Caribbean cruises.  The last one 3 years ago.  The food was very disappointing.  I was given curdled milk.  The English muffin was so hard it could not be cut and this was breakfast in the main dinning room.  I talked with several others and they had the same sentiment.  The service was substandard along with activities.  I am going back to Disney!!

Excellent Experience!! by imrosari

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My experience in this vacations was spectacular, I recommend this ship Adventure of the Seas, the only unfortunate was that I did not get the $100 credit that I had mentioned from the staff of Cheapticktes that would have aboard, I had to pay the aforementioned amount . I am a loyal customer of the Royal line, but I never knewed why didnt get the credit mentioned on board.

What an Experience! by charleshsmith1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our first cruise and it was an amazing experience!  From the moment we boarded the Adventure of the Seas in San Juan PR, to all the small islands we visited, to the time we returned back to San Juan 7 days later, it was top notch service!  We have talked with several people on the cruise and all of them said that Royal Caribbean was high class.  This cruise was catered to the older age group and everyone on board was mature.  All staff from the dinning room to the ones that took care of our room all deserve 5 Stars!  Room was spacious and clean.  Shows where amazing and very entertaining.  The only issue was when we were docked at an island, none of the shops on the ship where open.  Maybe this was to encourage everyone to shop at the port instead of on the ship?  Other than that, we will definetly be taking another cruise next year.Happy

Great Cruise by Shuzers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The itinerary was fantastic.  The beaches were beautiful.  After being on the Oasis for my last 2 cruises, this ship was a little small, but the staff was friendly and the ship was very clean.  I recommended this cruise to my daughter for her honeymoon next year.Big Smile

RC always comes through with a great vacation cruise.  I have never been disappointed with any of the cruises I have taken on an RC ship. The staff was great, the food was great, the room attendant was friendly and attentive to any of our needs.

7 night Aventure of the seas 2015 by rivmce

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This is my third time sailing on Adventure of the seas. I love this Ship and this Itinerary. If you like activities and stops then this is the perfect cruise for you. I do have to say that the service and overall food has gone down. I wouldnt waste my time going to the formal dining room, unless its for breakfast. The service and food has gotten alot worse. The food in the windjammer buffet however has gotten better. If you strictly go for the food you may be dissapointed. If you love the beach, scenerary and excursions you must take this cruise. I would highly recommend booking excursions through Royal. You get what you pay for. The only exception is the Virgin Islands. The excursions arent very good. You are better off taking a cab to the beach, or enjoying the free beach walking distance from the ship. That is what I did last time. This time we booked a Catamaran on the Jolly mon and it was not very good. The rum punch was all punch no rum. The female captain took along time to park on the beach and woubd up parking to far from the beach, which made it difficult for tge older passengers to get on board. She also cut our beach time short by a half our so she could sell teeshirts. Epic fail. Aside from that the other excursions were awesome. We did the st Maarten beach break, the antigua kayak tour, the St Lucia segway tour, Ive also done the antigua lobster lunch cruise, both are amazing. In the past Ive done the barbados turtle catamaran. We wound up taking a cab to a local beach for only $5 per person, which was ok. Its easy to cab to a noce beach on Barbados, but if you have the money I would reccomend an excursion. When booking your room, esoecially on this ship, book your room high up. It is very easy to leave the ship, and so convenient to be able to walk up to deck 11 were the pool, windjammer, and gym is. We stayed and deck ten near the front. It was so convenient to be able to quickly walk to the gym, pool, or windjammer. My third time on this ship and tge food quality has gotten worse. The exception was tge windjammer and johnny rockets. Dont miss out on the steaks grilled to order and the stir fry. Breakfast buffet is mediocre. Skip the first line and walk straight in to tge omelet line. Grwat job givibg tickets for omeletts, oder it the hit the second kess crowded line

Post-Southern Caribbean Cruise by williamswilliam

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The journey was quite enjoyable. The attendants were helpful and paid attention to details. We did not like the piano bar, the pianist did not have a menu or variety of songs that appealed to the middle-aged. The breakfast in the Windjammer was the "same" thing every day. A changing variety would be nice; more Caribbean flavor.

The next sail planners should be available later on the last night of the cruise or the customer service are should be equipped for cruisers to sign up.

The cruise is all of what you make it by Shart3414

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Great cruise.. My husband and I went on Adventures of the seas on September 5th-September 12th, this was our 12th cruise but 4th of Royal Caribbean. This was one of their older ships and at this time needs to be docked and refurbished. This ship only has 2 restaurants and the dinning room and is just a dated ship, other than that this was a wonderful cruise. We really enjoyed the itinerary: St. Croix, St. Maartan, St. Lucia, Antigua and Barbados. I was a little tired from non-stop ports but still had a great time. The food was good in the dining room also. The shows on the ship were great, the comedians were awesome and people overall were so nice. I will stick to the new ships but still had a great time.

Not WOWED by RCCL Adventure of the Seas by dave57

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship is old and dated. Food and soft drinks no better than cheaper cruise lines. The theater shows were a big disappointment. Smaller lounges with singing, sports bar, comics but little seating. The coffee was really bad but could purchase better coffee. No view under balcony hand rail on deck 6, also no air flow due to design. Bathroom counter small, faucet dripped continuously. Ran out of hot water on 2nd formal night. My time dining had no wait staff entertainment on formal night. Only deck game is shuffleboard. Only two soft serve ice cream machines open 12- 4 pm, they were broke most of the time and when working, the ice cream was runny. We were not WOWED with this ship. Passengers were quieter and acted more mature than cheaper cruise lines.

Opportunity areas for RC at Adventure of the Seas by blackcangri

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

orst service ever experienced. Rude attendants at Vivaldi's , pool , Windjammer. Lack of compromise with guests, bad attitudes. Only Oleksander on Vivaldi's and the crew by Next Cruise area had outstanding service, the rest of the employees need urgent service techniques or skills to be taught or developed.

The ship is lovely. The staff amazing. I loved the ports. I've already booked my next cruise. The performers on the ice show were incredible. We had coffee each morning at the coffee bar and by the third day the baristas knew just what we wanted.

updates so needed by bella7765

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

ist time on rc and I was not impressed. limited variety of food.. no self laundry. Much needed paint job.. very limited rc attire available.. casino so outdated. state room always has a stale smell... balcony was so rusted! Johnny rockets should be free.

my time dining wants me to make reservations????? I have no idea what this was all about!

no outdoor tv on... maybe cnn would be nice instead of nothing.

I think if I went on newer rc ship my experience would have been different.

will return to carnival asap!

great but avoid swimming pool by Cruiser2016

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Dinner time was the most enjoyable time during the cruise. Our waiters- Ezra and main waiter were amazing - (table 207). They have taken care of us very well and we were the group of 11 people.

One negative: main swimming pool on the open deck. Very dirty. My clothes after one swim for less then 15 minutes smelled very bad - Disgusting.

Adventure of the Sea by cperullo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

the ship was big and it was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the balcony was nice.

but the air conditioning was too low,the soda service not too great.seemed like the same food every night, and the 24 hour nook was not very good.

the pizza was horrible and the chocolate chip cookies always well done.

we did not enjoy the pastry selection and the ice crème line was too long.

I think they need more staff.

Enjoyed the cruise.  Disappointed in the food and the new cruise line "nickle & dime" extra fees that they charge constantly.  It was  our 10th cruise, but 1st in 5 years.   The people were great, but food was just OK.

Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I enjoyed all the Shows, very First Class.  I wished for more Shows.  The parades were very creative and Fun to enjoy.  The SPA was a highlight for me because I discovered I really needed it and ENJOYED!  At each port I enjoyed the Islands Sightseeing Tours.  Each stop had something different to offer and the prices were good.  I would recommend this 7 Night Southern Caribbean Cruise for anyone who wants to Enjoy a cruise with great relaxing included.  I'M ready for the next time.

Fun trip with my 18 year old daughter by slmhmccarthy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I have mostly done all inclusive beach vacations and I think I had higher expectations for the food on a cruise. The food was ok but I enjoy the selection, flexibility, dining times, and food at Sandals Resorts. They're also were very limited activities geared towards 18 to 20 year olds which was a little disappointing for my daughter.

Trip was not easy dodging 2 hurricanes. by Stevemc5123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

It's a little unfair to evaluate the cruise because we only went to 1 of the 5 scheduled stops.

The good part is the crew was wonderful, service was great, food was good - the servers accommodated my food allergies well, and everything very clean (ship was a little tired - some stairs had torn carpets, but that was minor).

The bad part, weather, was not Royal Caribbean's fault.  However, the process of rebooking new shore excursions to the new ports was frustrating because the TV menu ordering system didn't work each time we tried to use it (with each of the 2 itinerary changes).  Reviewing our end-of-cruise accounting was a challenge from excursion charges, credits, new charges, new credits, and again new charges.  Another problem with the TV system was we couldn't access the USB port to review our photos.  Guest relations said access was blocked to prevent virus downloads.  Don't see how a virus could infect their TVs?

We would like to try the original itinerary cruise again - either in 2017 or 2018.

Southern Island Expereince by rudins1b

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Considering the change of itineraries due to the storm, the cruise was great . The island changes was a disappointment but nicely done by RCL to get us to other islands that we haven't been too. The only island that I may not want to revisit was Bonaire. It was OK but not one of my choices. Aruba was fabulous. Curacao was also very good. Food seems to have gone down hill the past years but still good since we have cruised 20+ times. Not much variety changes. Overall, no major complaints and will continue to cruise with RCL.

Happy
