A: If it’s your first cruise I would try a travel agent if you have a lot of questions. If not, I usually book direct with the cruise line.

Q: Do our toiletries need to fit the 3-1-1 rule for our carry-on on cruises? If so, larger shampoo/conditioner/etc. ok in other bag coming on board?

A: Never had an issue taking standard size bottles onboard in cruise carry on. i think that's just an international flight issue these days. i am in AUS and cruise 7+ times a year.
Answered by emsea on August 24, 2024
A: NoTSA style rules for toiletries. If you want to carry on full sized products, you can as long as your mode of transport to the ship allows it. Personally, I prefer not to carry through the ship for the first 3-4 hours after embarking any heavy bags... & check those with the pier side porters. Remember, in general, cabins do not open even for bag drop-off until 2-3 hours prior to sail away.See More

Q: What type of fans are allowed on board? A box fan or a small 12 in or less fan? I struggle to

A: Table top models are strongly suggested, nothing larger than 12" blades is allowed. Usually recommended to have USB style cord or battery operated, as stateroom outlet is normally by the vanity desk & Royal does not allow extension cords to be brough... t on board. They try to reserve the on board extension cords for cabins w/ med. equip. needs like CPap users. The fan must be in/part of your carry-on luggage.See More

A: If talking about the waterpark for kids before buying checkout the height restrictions. Many slides there are for 48" & up others require an adult w/ them if between 42" & 47". No sense paying $100+ per person if only able to go on a few features. Th... ere are 2 water play areas for those under 48" w/ their adult that are free on the island.See More

Q: Our son is 2 months from turning 12 years of age. Will he be able to get into the 12-17 activities?

A: During the busy school break times all the cruise lines tend to be strict about the age requirements for their various kids clubs and camps. Royal has been rarely known to allow kids to age-up for their programs in the low seasons, even when a child'... s birthday on board "graduates" them to the next age group.See More

Q: One of the tips stated that there aren’t US plugs available. What type of wall outlet plugs are in the ship & specifically, in the rooms?

A: We have cruised the AoS and there ARE US plugs in the cabins.
Answered by crusies on July 28, 2024
A: I was on Adventure in January. In my inside cabin I had US plug outlets above the desk.
Answered by CruiseQueen34 on July 18, 2024
A: They have the standard U.S. 110v outlets, and we always take a 2 prong European adapter with USB outlets to also use the 220v Euro outlets in every cabin.
Answered by toma114 on July 18, 2024
A: Not sure what their official policy is anymore; but on my last two AOTS cruises I used a short non-surge power strip along with a standard extension cord plugged into that. No issues from the room steward.
Answered by jallaway on July 18, 2024
A: Just remember Royal does not allow extension cords or power strips. EU to/from NA power converts must be flush to the wall & can have only 1 standard outlet, but can multiple USB ports. USB outlet charging cords can have heads for multiple devices.
Answered by maryred on July 18, 2024
A: Go to the Royal Caribbean website (not their app). Pull up your account. It will display your cruise. Enter into your cruise. There will be 2 links (edocs and luggage tags).
Answered by CruiseQueen34 on May 29, 2024
A: Luggage tags will be sent in your Edocs that will be emailed at 30 days out… the tags will be on next to the last page of that email
Answered by cruisinmombell on May 29, 2024
A: did you check in? you should be able to download your documents with the luggage tags

A: Sun screen needs to be free of Oxybenzone and Octinoxate which are toxic to coral species. Just google and order on line - slightly pricey but not bad and worth it in the end.

A: And, only if you choose the "my time" dining are you supposed to make dinner reservations. when we last went, it was still wonky and a walk-up generally got you seated at the same time as a reservation.
Answered by jallaway on August 29, 2023
A: We buy one package for be both of us and share. We use it for messenger to stay in touch with the kids.
Answered by Greeknpumped on August 29, 2023

A: Never seen the option through Royal's app. On the main website or through the Cruise Planner portal you go to Royal Gifts. Be warned the liquor bottles are more of a mini bar size read the description carefully so you know if getting 187ml or 375ml... "bottle" for the price, wine/champagne is a 750ml bottle.See More

Q: I don’t drink a lot so a alcohol package does not make sense for me, I’ll be getting just a soda package. I noticed there’s a gratuity on the soda package. If I have a couple alcoholic drinks on board, should I tip the bartender?
Thumbs Up
0
A: They automatically add gratuity into the bill but if you have an exceptional service or one that you frequent then I'll add a couple more on.
Answered by Gardengenix on May 27, 2023
A: only if you're feeling generous, because they will automatically tack a gratuity onto just about everything you order
Answered by jallaway on May 4, 2023
A: Royal automatically adds an 18% auto-gratuity to every drink purchase not covered by your package purchase. Tipping extra in cash will get you better remembered by the staff and could give you an edge for faster orders when the bar or server is busy.
Answered by maryred on May 5, 2023
A: No. It’s included. But if the bartender is nice to you and you want that bartender to maybe hook you up with a nicer pour next time or serve you before some other people, $2 or $3 in cash works wonders. Watch how fast it disappears into their pock... et. It’s like a magic trick. :-)See More
Answered by TheVegasSphere on May 5, 2023
A: Any package you buy you pay 18% gratuity up front. If you don’t have an alcohol package they will hand you a receipt and you can just sign it if put a tip on it since it won’t be pre loaded with that 18%. But like anywhere else, tipping is up to you

Answered by deboftheseas on April 27, 2023
A: The Adventure does not have a Broadway length or specialized technical productions so they offer 2-4 nights of variety shows the have 2 curtains each night shown. The showtime center around the 2 traditional set seating dining choices with late diner... s attending before eating and early diners going after dinner. Fly-on acts set their own schedule based on material.See More
