Interesting Caribbean Cruise
Our cruise was very interesting as it was the last cruise out of Miami before the ships all suspended operations. All of our original ports were cancelled so each day was an adventure in uncertainty. The ship was only at 40% capacity so the service was top notch!

This was a very enjoyable cruise. Loved the staff on the Dawn. The service was outstanding.

Great Family Getaway on the Getaway
We love NCL and the Getaway. We've been on the Getaway four times total and love this ship. We were accompanied by nine of our family members who were all first time cruisers and everyone had a blast. I'm pretty sure this will not be anyone's last cruise. The entire experience was great except for disembarkation and in our six previous disembarkations we had never experienced anything like what we had on this trip. The ship arrived late into port and the normal access areas for disembarkation were roped off. People were stacked in front of the elevators and on the stairs and the announcements were few and far between. People were at the port for embarkation as we were trying to disembark and it was a mess.

Norwegian Getaway Is a Fine Sailing Vessel
The Norwegian Getaway was a beautiful sailing vessel. There were some items that definitely could be improved upon but we have no regrets with spending 7 days on the Getaway. This was our first cruise but likely not our last. Our biggest shock was that even though we got the Ultimate Dining Package and Ultimate Beverage Packages there were still many, many, many small charges for restaurants not included and beverages not included that really added up. Our initial booking was a very reasonable price but at the end of the trip we had spent far more than what it was truly worth and could have taken several vacations for the price of this one. Now that we are no longer novice cruisers and know to read the fine print we will do better budget wise in the future.

We went to Great Stirrup Caye and not P.R.
We went to MSC’s private island and not St. Maarten.
Tortola, British Virgin Islands
We went to Cozumel and not Tortola.

The shower stall doors move inward making it easier to use the facilities.
From listening to the news, I was expecting PR to be in shambles still, but was pleasantly surprised to see that the city was thriving.
Wonderful!
We elected not to take an excursion and explore St. Lucia on our own. Bad choice. The whole area surrounding the ship was filled with vendors selling everything you can imagine, even drugs.
Really liked this little island. Very clean and no one was hawking any wares or services.
Charming island. Would like to go back. Beautiful beaches!

Curaçao is very colorful and interesting. We would like to go back and explore the island a bit more.
Norwegian Dawn
Make sure to eat at Los Lobos. Excellent food, staff, service and margaritas!
We took this cruise primarily because Aruba was on the itinerary and we have heard nothing but great things by those who have visited. It was nice but not what I was expecting.
We did a whale watching excursion and town was too far to visit, so we did not see anything of the island.
Tortola, British Virgin Islands
We did the Escape to Jost Van Dyke excursion for the third time and White Bay, Jost Van Dyke, continues to be our favorite beach day.
We did not really care for Harvest Caye. Took the ferry to the mainland and was a bit disappointed in that it was mostly shops and individuals selling their wares.
Lots of people love this port. It was dirty and congested in my opinion. Not a personal favorite.
Trying to exit the main shopping area is a real pain. They keep you trapped in there it seems like. Little to do outside of the port on your own. Need to do a shore excursion.
Norwegian Getaway
Skip the buffet and eat your meals in the main dining room. Buffet food is good, people eating there are ridiculous.
Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
We loved everything about his port. The highlight of our cruise. Tour with Roatan Snorkeling Tours was fabulous!
We did not care for Nassau at all. Very rundown. Horrible customer/tourist service. Atlantis was a total waste of time and money!
Loved St. Thomas and am looking forward to returning to the Virgin Islands in the future.
Did a shore excursion to the Everglades which was really nice.
Interesting island. Enjoyed our excursion and learned enough to appreciate the U.S. alot!
Norwegian Getaway
Cagney's Steakhouse has the best food with La Cucina following as a close second. Make sure to read/take along your Freestyle Daily so you know what is going on, what is open/closed, etc.
