MSC Divina

February 2019 - 11 Night Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip) Cruise on MSC Divina

Enjoyed the Trip

There were six of us , not first time cruisers, The other four will not return to MSC because of the above issues. I would because no matter what ship you're on it is what it is, sure people could be nicer, don't push, butt in line and close elevators in your face, but that's on them. I enjoyed the time with my wife and friends, met some nice people from Sweden and enjoyed the sports bar. One thing if you want to get a place at the pool on cruise days go early. People put towels out, and hog all the lounges, no one enforces the 30 minute rule, so go early and get a place.Enjoy your trip on MSC, don't let the small things bother you, All in All I had a great time and will be cruising again in April.

Grandeur of the Seas

September 2018 - 9 Night Canada & New England (Baltimore Roundtrip) Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

Shirt but nice

Because of Florence our trip was shortened. Only one port Halifax. Arrived on Wednesday afternoon. Took a van tour around town and out to Peggy's Cove. Had a nice time there. Went to the cementary where victims of the titanic were buried. Found this to be interesting and it was my pleasure to pay my respect. Grandeur was only half full lots of cancellations. No long lines anywhere. Getting on and off was very quick. Quest game was fun. Chops was delicious, wife got hot coffee spilled on her, but all was good. Not a fan of my time dining, waiter Perry and assistant were nice. Only ate there twice out of five nights. Windjammer was really good. Room 4012 was nice, quiet part of the ship. Shows as usual was good, both comedians were funny and it was nice they had them in the theatre. Staff were friendly and customer service people were wonderful. RCCL was very generous in compensation to those who decided to cruise. As usual there are a few people who are rude and believe it's all about them, alcohol plays a big part in that, and staff doesn't or maybe can't enforce policy. It could ruin some peoples cruise but, you got to expect it and hope it doesn't happen. Don't forget to go up to the Viking lounge, nice and quite during the daytime. Check out the Park cafe excellent breakfast sandwiches. Liked the information update from the Captain every day at noon. Overall our group of six had a wonderful time and I would give the ship and staff 5 stars. Probably will book the New England/Canada cruise in the future to go to the four ports we missed. I would recommend this ship and staff members for anyone considering a cruise, job well done. Sailed 9/17-22/2018.

Grandeur of the Seas

January 2018 - 9 Night Southeast Coast & Bahamas (Baltimore Roundtrip) Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

High waves and wind

Disappointed, at the end sick. In between enjoyed the ship, crew and entertainment and our group of ten. Disappointed we missed three ports out of five, didn't enjoy the other two as much as we would of liked. Weather can't control it. We were compensated for the ten day trip down to eight days, and received port charges back for not going there. Around Thursday started feeling sick, got a virus sick the whole next week, just getting over it now. Five in the group had the same thing. Not sure if it was the ship or not, but I know other people were sick also. Never again out of Baltimore in January. Will fly south, then cruise. Worst cruise, out of thirteen.

beautiful ship

There were three couples in or group. We al stayed on the Spa deck. The ship is beautiful. Entertainment was good for us but not so much for other  two couples. The four ports we went to were worth the money. The food was okay.

Now the cons: staff was very slow in clearing off tables on the lido deck. The dine at your time staff was slow, long lines to get in, staff messed up our orders or just didn't bring us what we ordered, no personality  except the last two nights we were seated at another area of the dining room in the  Black Pearl and had a waiter named Leslie, and his crew were wonderful. We enjoyed their personality and kidding around with all their tables. This is a good example of someone enjoying their job.

Two ports we had to tender, all in all that went well.

Getting on and off went well.

Second excursion

The trip to Baltimore was nice. Check in outside went smoothly, luggage and parking. The lines were long to go thru the metal detectors and the lines were even more longer than you would believe. Over two hours to get checked In. We had lunch food was good. We had a rear balcony on level 6. Not worth the upgrade cost. Room was nice but nothing different than a side balcony. Glass on the balcony  to look thru  at the ocean was filthy. Could not see thru it. Luggage arrived before dinner. Monday  was rough because of tropical storm Kate. Many people were ill. Dinning was ok but nothing like last time we were on the ship. Shows were okay, better at the end of the week. Comedy shows are in the Butterfly lounge. Had to wait in line and sometimes you could not get a seat for the over 18 shows. Not sure why they don't use the larger theatre. Days at sea no much activity going on. Last time they had karaoke  during the day and that was fun to do. Like the old decorations better but that's me. Didn't care for what they did to the David statue. Randy our room steward was fantastic. Rest of the staff I didn't feel were as friendly like last time. Got into port late because of an emergency medial condition of a passenger at sea. It was nice they left us all know in the morning. The helicopter made a lot of noise in the we hours of the morning to pick up the patient. I hope she is doing find. Took our own luggage off the ship and that went good, got off about two hours earlier than if  we would of let them take our luggage. Trip over all was good but there is room for improvements. Now on to the Carnival Splendor in 2016 and back to the Pride in the Fall to Bermuda.
