The ship is fine, huge. It is too bad the shower area in your stateroom is so miniature. Yes, I know the cabins are never huge but comparing to our 4 previous cruises with Carnival, we felt these were extremely small. Overall the trip was great and I think a must do.

hmmmm This ship still needs help in more than one way... my advice is to choose another ship...I gave my honest opinion and happenings on the Ruby .. Im not new to cruising and been on most lines and Princess is my favorite but this ship fell below Princess standards.. Also doesnt matter how much you tell cruiseline they dont care ... Ps. If anyone is looking for easy off from cali to lax its not offered except for alaska trip only.. cruisineline lied when booking... hmm

Get a balcony cabin!

Positives - Crab Shack, Zipline in Skagway, salmon fishing in Juneau, Lumberjack show in Ketchikan. Negatives - trying to find a table at the buffet, the totem pole demo in Ketchikan

Remember to take meds for sea-sickness

We sometimes went to the bar to hear the guitar artists that played there (they were very good) and we had a wonderful time there. Also ypu have to go to the spa and get a massage!

If you book direct with Princess, and they assign you a Vacation Planner, be prepared to never be able to work with that person. Ours was never available, and never returned any phone calls or messages.

Take half the clothes you think you'll need.

The trip to the Islands can be as enjoyable as the destination if you participate. The Ukuleles were borrowed for the entire cruise and lessons were given on all sea days so start on day 2. You can “practice” on your down time at sea.

Be sure to enjoy the specialty dining as well as the buffets it’s a totally wonderful experience

Enjoy everything they offer. Don't spend time in your room, get out and mingle and enjoy the events and food. It's great!

Don’t go if you are a family. You will find yourself quite unwelcome.

This was our first cruise ever. The Ruby Princess was nice but is an older ship. The elevators were extremely slow so be prepared to wait or use the stairs.

Be aware that certain excursions, such as helicopter rides, will get cancelled when the weather, which is unpredictable, isn't great.

Don't go if you don't like crowds!!!

Wifi is worse than an isolated village in Northern Italy.
