overview below princess standards for me, us.. embarkation and debarkation were high standards.. Ports were clean and were easy to catch free shuttles to shopping and walmart... lol yes walmart in Hawaii... I dont suggest april to travel if you are a sun type person. April was cold from cali to islands .. once there weather in low 70 but warm enough to soak up the sun.. Once back on the water returning to cali was cold ... jeans or pants shirts or tshirts and jackets needed... send a holla if i can answer any questions for you...... see you on the high seas from lisacruises
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Easy embarkation .. was organized and if you get there by 10 am was a breeze to get on ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
I gave an okay response however it falls between poor and okay.. main dining, buffet and pub style dining was not up to Princess standard.. cold food even at late dining.. variety low grade.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
adult pool closed more than opened. variety of things to do around ship limited.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
OMG besides the amazing dj which did not get much playing time the shows were plainly dull.
Princess Theater
1 out of 5
small theater small seats and venue was old and tiresome... for a long cruise they repeated acts alot with outdated comedy and using guests to fill in gaps of time... say whaaat yes felt like i was in the show dirty dancing where the guests participate was to much on stage lol....
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
Below standard of this line! Steward was okay but the service all around lacked..
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Was a clean ship..
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Outdated look even tho this ships been refurbished. Bed and bedding were above standard. Room standard size and always good with the open closet concept. Cleanliness of room well lets say basic cleaning between passengers there was a lid from previous guests who stuck it on top of ceiling light and was there all week til i took it down that should speak for its self..
Ship tip
hmmmm This ship still needs help in more than one way... my advice is to choose another ship...I gave my honest opinion and happenings on the Ruby .. Im not new to cruising and been on most lines and Princess is my favorite but this ship fell below Princess standards.. Also doesnt matter how much you tell cruiseline they dont care ... Ps. If anyone is looking for easy off from cali to lax its not offered except for alaska trip only.. cruisineline lied when booking... hmm
Did ships excursion to macadamia nut factory... and saw the devastation of the volcanoes.. waste of money... Hilo is the rainy island. says enough there and was rushed at the nut farm took most of the time pit stopping at similar volcano sites..
Port clean and free shuttles to shopping.. However very commercialized and main shopping is a MALL like whaaat! lol We also did Germaines luau um did one and done.. Hard picnic tables to sit on and show was better at of all places disney polynesian.... Food once taken out of ground had flies around til they hauled it off for people to eat...UM again HMMMM. People lined up to get food on lousy styrofoam plates and was lousy...they also say buy a cup for 11 dollars and it gets filled of drink of choice at bar... lie costs another 5 bucks... fool me once and byeee....
Best excursion was the catamaran ride... 2 hours and drinks and snacks served with beautiful site of the ruby princess. was a tendered port also.. always lines there but hey thats expected. Shopping right there within very close proximity that was our best port this trip. with beautiful sites from entering the bay...
Cant rate did not get off this port... armed military at exit point just didnt feel like getting off. However the view of their 3rd largest flag was a site to see and port beautiful coming in and leaving...
