Review summary

The scenery in Alaska was amazing. The cruise food was excellent, and the excursions gave us a chance to see more of the area. I just wish that the staff, which was great, would be given more time off. They work 10-12 hours a day, 7 days a week, for many months in a row. This is unhealthy and unethical and made it difficult for us to enjoy our trip as much as possible.

Ship tip

Be aware that certain excursions, such as helicopter rides, will get cancelled when the weather, which is unpredictable, isn't great.

You should see the working conditions where most of the grunts come from. Asked one server once about why he stayed and he said that it was better than he could get at home and he was supporting his family and saving for better house.

Its true the staff work hard but they choose to be there. These are considered lucrative jobs by the ppl doing them and there is a waiting list to get cruise jobs
