Unless you drink a lot of soda, pass on the beverage plan. We bough 2 plans and never found the hot chocolate and only had a couple of sodas. As tea drinkers, this was a mistake on our part. Thermal package was worthwhile, especially after a long day in chilly Alaska. If at all possible get a balcony!! We were on the port side and had a great view of the glacier ( even though the captain rotated the ship so that the starboard passengers had a view) I think we had slightly more time and witnessed the glacier calving.

The even bigger disappointment was that I constantly felt like they had their hand in my pocket. You could not walk through the shop area without someone trying to sell you something or give you a raffle ticket to get you into their store. This got old real fast and I felt like I needed a calendar to keep track of all the raffles they wanted me to attend.

Explore the ship the first day so you aren't constantly lost. Keep your map with you (provided) and remember port is left, starboard is right, aft is rear. Try all the restaurants.

not worth the money, most of the servers are very rude, very hot in are cabin even with the air conditioning turn all the way down, and a lot of vibration.

Study your map and tour the ship within 24hrs. I did not like getting lost. Don't buy promotional items unless you check the internet first. If it sounds 2 good ....... google it!!

Upgrade to Club class, its worth all of the perks they give you. Also - sail when you are celebrating something, and put it on your reservation ( birthday, anniversary) we received SO many gifts because it was our anniversary! The special touches like that really made for a wonderful vacation

Make dinner reservations to avoid long lines for dinner. We did so daily, and in our case the reservations could be made through early afternoon.
