Review summary

Alaska ports are amazing. Beautiful weather, met lovely people on board the ship, and in the ports.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Amazing embarkation process. I went on one other cruise, Carnival in 2012, and embarkation was long, hot and onerous. So grateful for the process improvement.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Breakfast and lunch mostly at the buffet. I enjoyed the salad bar and fresh fruit selections. We did anytime dining, and the menu selections were varied, and everything I ordered was delicious.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Enjoyed the movies on deck, however disappointed it was cancelled in several ports due to noise requirements.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Salvador Catin was my room steward, and he was fantastic. All the ship personnel I encountered were lovely.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was easy to navigate, until I attended wine tasting at a new to me dining room. It took a few elevator rides and backtracking to find it. Otherwise, I enjoyed the ship, and found everything well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I had a balcony room with two twins, and shared with a friend. Room size was fine for the limited time spent in the room. Plenty of closet and storage space. The bathroom was a bit small, as expected on a ship.

Ship tip

Go to the dining room for all of your meals, and get a shared table so you can meet new folks from all over the world.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was a huge improvement over my prior experience several years ago. Seemed to be more chaotic than embarkation, with many more passengers leaving together. Still a vast improvement over earlier experience.
