Review summary

This cruise was fabulous. Great food, great Service, amazing cities to visit and so much to do. We wanted a bit more upscale cruising, which is why we chose Princess. It was a great compromise between wanting a cruise that was not horribly expensive and had great service and options. It was great for a romantic getaway for 2 and we cannot wait to go back!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Pain free, fast and easy. This was a great way to start a vacation. I am used to having embarkation be a crowded, stressful game of waiting and this was the total opposite. We were very pleased with Princess and how easy it was to go through the embarkation process

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was beyond words. We didn't have anything on board that wasn't awesome. The Buffet was better than most, with plenty of choices and a seemingly endless amount of food. Seating was a premium, but we always found a seat. Main dining room (we had club class dining) was unparalleled. I HIGHLY recommend upgrading to club class it is worth every single penny.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There was plenty to do at all hours of the day. We loved the Movies under the Stars, the adult pool (by the spa, and the Sanctuary..oh my goodness...the Sanctuary was the place to be! There was also always an event going on in the bar on deck 7 mid...art auctions, comedians, game show type things...always fun when we were down there.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The ships band was awesome. We came across them many times and thought they were very good. We didn't see any of the stage shows which was a timing issue for us, but we definitely will the next time out!

Children's Programs

we were not traveling with children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward George was awesome. We wanted for nothing. Our room was immaculate all of the time. Our club class dining wait staff was fabulous. They knew your name after the first day and they learned very quickly what you liked and what you didn't. They made great recommendations and always were friendly and personable. We loved every minute of the dining experiences and everyone we came in to contact with. All of the ships employees were gracious, pleasant and always happy to help you. it was so nice to be treated so well all of the time.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very well maintained and the design was sensible. It was easy to get around, we almost never waited for an elevator which is amazing and in general, it was easy to find our way to different parts of the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was awesome. We had a club class mini suite, in mid ship on the dolphin deck. it was a great location, close to everything and you didn't feel as much of the waves in the middle which made the trip more enjoyable. Our room was large, clean, in good condition and very comfortable. Sleeping on their bed was almost better sleeping than at home.

Ship tip

Upgrade to Club class, its worth all of the perks they give you. Also - sail when you are celebrating something, and put it on your reservation ( birthday, anniversary) we received SO many gifts because it was our anniversary! The special touches like that really made for a wonderful vacation

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

5 out of 5
Wouldn't consider this a port of call as this is where we embarked. But I will say it was easy to park, find our way around, clean and the employees were friendly and helpful.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
LOVED it...I had been to PV before and couldn't wait to come back. We took an all day private tour of the city and were able to see so much we wouldn't have in a larger group. It was beyond amazing and we can't wait to go back.

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
We took an atv adventure tour in Mazatlan. We had a rocky start trying to find our guide, but once we did it was a great time. We took our atvs through the jungle, along the beach, through the woods...it was quite an experience. We were tired and covered in dirt when it was over, but it was totally worth it!

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
We didn't have a lot of time in Cabo, but we tried to make the most of it. We didn't take an excursion, but we did walk around town on our own. We had lunch/drinks at Cabo Wabo (A must see!) and enjoyed some of the shops along the pier. We will definitely be coming back to Cabo!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was easy and organized. We were off the ship a bit early which was great.
