Alaska 7 nights + 3 Day Land Tour by CheChe1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Alaska

Awesome Alaska Cruise! Royal Princess was a beautiful clean ship! Entertainment was great! Food was good! Most service was good! Cabin Steward was Great! Our room (cabin) and balcony was Great! The Location of our Cabin was PERFECT! (Especially for an Alaskan. Cruise)... Do the Train from Whittier instead of the Motorcoach because you can get up move around and eat. Long train ride (or bus) when you disembark. (9-9 1/2 hours)...

alaska great, royal princess mixed review by Kwynnie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

i Picked Princess based on the route. Their land portion, not great. Too much bus riding. Recommend doing Alaska land on your own, not princess . Pick a ship that has more time in each port, if possible. Pick a ship with better rated food. Not a big fan of all parts of the medallion. In spite of a few things -we loved Alaska, met great people, and had a wonderful time. And we were spoiled, we had the most unbelievable weather.

Alaska medallion class cruise by Orion4077

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess

Amazing! When doing the same cruise again would definitely make sure to book excursions in Juneau and Skagway as there really isn’t much to explore within walking distance of the ship when docked. If your taking a cruise on this ship or any other royal class, the enclave is a must do for the extra level of relaxing Without the crowds.

If you love nature this cruise is a must. Every view is a picture. And there is so much history to learn about Alaska and the gold rush era. The locals are very friendly. A must see!!!

Trip of a lifetime by Ltsmokey

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Alaska

Ship portion of the land/cruise tour was wonderful for the sights and ports. Don’t know if we’ll sail Princess again as I wasn’t impressed by the ship and food/activities. The land portion was very rushed. We only did 3 days on land and that just wasn’t enough time to see anything because you spent the majority of your time on a train or bus. The train trip from Whittier to Denali was 10 hours which Princess doesn’t bother to tell you in the brochures. By the time you arrive at the lodge, you only have time to eat and get settled into your room. The next morning you only have time for a short excursion before you’re on a bus to McKinley lodge.

Huge ship. Probably won’t do another cruise. Too ritzy and way too many people for us hillbillies! Really enjoyed Alaska, though.

On the whole, wonderful, definetly had a newbie learning curve. by graceomalley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

If you do an overland tour do your research, you have to have bags ready to go by 6 am which means you have to be up and ready and packed. We spent one day at each stop and were exhausted by the early mornings. Also getting to the ship with only 2 hours before it sailed was a huge disadvantage. Having said that, it was really a trip of a lifetime!

Wonderful trip to Alaska, the inside passage by Constance5775

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Alaska

Overall we enjoyed our cruise. There was not anything bad or intolerable. The ship was well maintained and clean, the crew was polite and hospitable. As in any large trip you will encounter rude people and some people were especially bad about butting in line or trying to cram in an elevator before it could unload, but you will get this anywhere.

A much needed vacation by Ladybug

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Alaska

I'm exactly from Anchorage, Alaska and wanted to see towns never visited. Had issues with some of the dining facilities weren't aware of my allergies, was locked out of my cabin numerous times since my medallion wasn't working. Other than those complaints was beautiful cruise to see parts of Alaska I hadn't visited.
