If you do an overland tour do your research, you have to have bags ready to go by 6 am which means you have to be up and ready and packed. We spent one day at each stop and were exhausted by the early mornings. Also getting to the ship with only 2 hours before it sailed was a huge disadvantage. Having said that, it was really a trip of a lifetime!
Embarkation

It would have been fine, but we were on the overland tour first and the train got there only 2 hrs before departure, really not enough time.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The dining/specialty restaurants were very nice, the food was good but not as great as I thought it would be.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We were in Alaska so we didn’t swim, but the pools were beautiful, fitness center was always busy, there were no rock climbing walls or activities of this type on board
Entertainment
3 out of 5
I was not impressed with the stage shows, the comedy shows were very good and the Princess Live theatre always had fun events going on.

Clean, well laid out, plenty of hangers and storage, very comfortable...and the mattress and pillows were AMAZINGLY comfortable.
Ship tip
Embark as soon as possible. It is a big ship so the quicker you familiarize yourself, the more you will enjoy it!
In fairness we caught a bug on the ship and were just tired so factor that in to this review, I was overwhelmed with all the tourist shops selling way overpriced Knick knacks. I had a hard time finding any native things. There were a few things in town to see but we ended up going back to the ship early.
We were in Canada and given we were in another country, I think it it was well organized. It was a long tiring process at the end of a trip, so be prepared for that.
If not taking an excursion, Ketchikan is best for just walking the creek area (including Creek Street) and up the creek also. Nice scenery once you get away from the water front. Looking forward to Alaska in 32 days on Holland and the Sea of Cortez in October on the Royal.
Just like when leaving the ship luggage needs to be out the night before so we pack everything except what we need the next am and then that morning stuff our jammies in the carryon bag and we are set.we plan to do this for the land tours so we dont have to be up early or just awake enough to roll them out then go back to sleep
