Review summary

Ship portion of the land/cruise tour was wonderful for the sights and ports. Don’t know if we’ll sail Princess again as I wasn’t impressed by the ship and food/activities. The land portion was very rushed. We only did 3 days on land and that just wasn’t enough time to see anything because you spent the majority of your time on a train or bus. The train trip from Whittier to Denali was 10 hours which Princess doesn’t bother to tell you in the brochures. By the time you arrive at the lodge, you only have time to eat and get settled into your room. The next morning you only have time for a short excursion before you’re on a bus to McKinley lodge.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Ships food was average, even in the specialty restaurants.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Did not have many activities I was interested in.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Only saw one show, a comedian, because other shows looked boring.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Common areas were too small for a ship that holds that many people. Theatre only held 800 people on a ship built to carry 3600, so you better show up really early to get a seat. Trying to eat at the buffet was a nightmare because there were never any seats available.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabin was small but immaculately kept by cabin steward.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

Hey Shh813 do you work for Princess? I commented on 3 days on land not being enough time so that others don’t make the same mistake and they schedule more time on land. I guess not everyone is an expert on land/cruise tours like you are.

Don't complain about land time. You picked the itinerary and the excursions. All excursions give an explanation what it is and how long. Do better research next time or maybe cruising isn't for you.

We see the times it takes to get to and from each lodge and the train ride from Whittier on our confirmation page/receipt...
