Review summary

Trip of a lifetime and want to go back. We swore off cruising 15-20 years ago and now we want to do it again!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was smooth and organized

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Tried the buffet twice and both times seating was nearly impossible to find and the food was like cafeteria food. After that we stuck to the MDR, other venues and specialty dining.

Horizon Court

1 out of 5

Tried it twice and food wasn’t good...like a Hometown Buffet and we couldn’t find a place to sit even in the additional seating/buffet area.

Sabatini's

5 out of 5

This was surprisingly better than the crown grill...great service and good (hubby still likes the steaks in crown grill)

Crown Grill

5 out of 5

Great food, wish there were other app and starter options. Tried it twice, service was a little slow.

International Cafe

4 out of 5

Great food options and friendly staff. Tai chi (blended) was a little watered down.

Symphony Dining Room

4 out of 5

Service was very slow at times but staff friendly and food was good.

Gelato

4 out of 5

Would be nice to have more flavors but it’s made on ship.

Bellini Bar

5 out of 5

Remi was awesome there! Nice to sit and watch the Piazza

Alfredo's Pizzeria

5 out of 5

Good pizza, wish there were more pasta options.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not a lot of extra activities other than the usual on ship but we were okay with that.

Photo Gallery

3 out of 5

Some of the props were odd (like the Eiffel Tower on an Alaska. Cruise). They really push add one even after purchasing a package. Lines for pics can be long and they should have an electronic option to find your photos easier.

Sanctuary

4 out of 5

Great place to be for Glacier Bay. Staff could be a little more attentive.

Passenger Services

5 out of 5

Jore Labra in Guest Services was amazing and went out of his way to make things right for us and make our cruise perfect!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Comedian was great, singers were a little pitchy at times. I think I was hoping for more theatrical type shows.

Piazza Atrium

5 out of 5

So pretty and enjoyed just sitting and watching all the things happening and listening to live music.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Jore in guest services was the best. Like most places you have good and bad. Our room steward wasn’t the best.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
No issues

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Bed was comfy, side table light worked off and on one night and made a sizzling noise, never worked after that (it wasn’t the bulb, cord, etc). Linens had marks on them. Slider didn’t always close/lock easily.

Ship tip

Book the ultimate cruise tour and the Sanctuary for Glacier Bay day as soon as you board. These sell out fast and glacier Bay day in the Sanctuary is a special fee with extras provided for all day rental.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

5 out of 5
Amazing! Favorite was Juneau but we loved our excursion there (helicopter to glacier with dog sledding)

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Flight seeing on a float plane to George Inlet Lodge for all you can eat crab. Lots of fun, this port day was shorter than the others and wish we had more time.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Helicopter to Mendenhall Glacier with dog sledding on the glacier. Best excursion we have ever done! So amazing and the views were indescribably beautiful! We also took the tram to mt Roberts..beautiful views from the top

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Train to Bennet Lake, BC with lunch on board. Great just wish the stops were a little linger as we barely had time to do a lot (Bennet Lake was a 20 minute stop and Carcross about 40 min). We saw a black bear right on the side of the road in the way back on the shuttle.

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
Beautiful and relaxing day in the Sanctuary

Cruise College Fjord, Alaska

5 out of 5

Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska

5 out of 5
Went straight to airport on transfer so not a lot of time and no excursions.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Extremely smooth process!
