Deck 7 or 8 is perfectly placed to be just about anywhere on the ship in just a few minutes. Also, make sure you check out the Colony Club and Quill & Compass, both great venues.

Don't do it until they maintain and clean it

Maybe wait a bit so they can get it together.

Shore excursion get sold out quickly. Book them early online! Check the timing of the tours, you may get to book two tours in a day!

Don't over pack! Mostly casual wear on Alaskan cruise.

Wear your mask. Always. Masks work. Our son did not wear his mask diligently and got Covid. Husband and I wore our masks at all times except for when we were seated at a bar or restaurant and did not catch Covid.

One of the funniest experiences about cruising is dining with other guests. In the main dining area, we were limited to a small table only for us 3. The maître d' later explained that we could've requested to be at a different table with other people, but that was the last night of dining before we knew we had a choice.

Inside cabins open to the starboard side of the ship. It’s a small ship but it’s great for port heavy tours as you’re not on the ship as much you’re onshore.

Avoid the MDR for breakfast or go early. The menu is great as is the food, but the service was slow for us.

Choose another ship if booking for Alaska with kids. Also, book excursions when getting off the ship, each stop had plenty of choices and was either cheaper or a better deal (longer/more for the same price) or both.

Just do it !

An Alaskan Cruise is indescribable …the views are almost unreal. Arrive early for dinner and get that window seat….it’s the best seat in the house!

Join the activities.

Take advantage of your balcony if you have one. Bring binoculars!

Expect a smaller ship, smaller cabins

My biggest piece of advice is "get a room with a balcony if you can possibly do it!" Doesn't matter which side of the ship. Inside passage cruising has interesting land/water on both sides of the ship and you will see AMAZING things!

Be patient

When travelling to Alaska I would always choose a one-way cruise as more of Alaska can be seen and enjoyed.

Don’t get the internet package waste of money, I missed doing things with the group I was with cause I would get the message 4 hours after they sent it. Ports have free Wi-Fi so just wait till your in port
