Review summary

We had a great and relaxing time. Wish there would have been a bit more going on other than just live music (which we enjoy) or dancing (which we don’t). Other than that, we’d definitely do this cruise again.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Even with COVID protocols, embarkation was a breeze. Just be sure to have your test prior to arriving at the pier. Otherwise, you’ll be tested on site.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Windjammer - food was okay. The burgers were great! Breakfast was mediocre and lunch had a decent verity. MDR - dinner menu was just fine. Breakfast was okay but the service was very slow.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
It was too cold to do much out on pool/sports deck so that’s not RCL’s fault by any means. Inside activities were sparse, but this could be due to the fact that we sailed very early in the season. There wasn’t a main production show which was a bummer, but this could have been because of COVID protocols.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
No main production, but that could be due to COVID issues still. The move selections were okay, but they would show only 1 movie a day (multiple times) instead of a verity throughout the day. If you missed a movie on its day, that was it. The music in the pub was fantastic as was the jazz band in the lounge.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
MDR service was splendid! Windjammer service was also great. The pub bar tenders and waiters were in point as were the guys in the Champagne Bar. The Schooner bar folks were virtually non existent. Our room steward was very good and friendly

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The bed was a bit uncomfortable and the pillows were just too big for my liking. I like flat pillows, but that’s a personal preference. Otherwise, the room was great.

Ship tip

Avoid the MDR for breakfast or go early. The menu is great as is the food, but the service was slow for us.
